..and talking of lovely cinemas, I have just been to the new Lido, which has opened in Hamilton, on the site of the Rialto, which closed a year ago. Decorated with style and grace and so more pleasing than yer average cineplex. We now have 17 screens in Hamilton, which is quite enough.

Now, I want to see Fiona's photos.
And Geoff's.Will do, as soon as. I don't have a current Flickr account and will need to remedy that--unless there is another way of posting them. Anyway, they are a rather perverse collection of notices and signs, and certainly couldn't match Jackie's

Chop it off, get a new jack... any repair place will be able to do that for peanuts. [quote]
Ehmm what repair place will do it for "peanuts"?
Standard minimum charge is often as high as $70.Thanks for all the helpful advice. Our local Tiscos have repaired it, for the modest charge of $20.

See some of you @ The Civic in an hour or so.

1. Insomnimac - did I just see that on a billboard, or was I dreaming?
You are not dreaming. I saw it on a billboard heading towards the Nelson Street off-ramp yesterday. Seems to allude to how eating McD"s keeps you up all night?

..incidentally (and nothing at all to do with this topic), is the tour of The Civic still on for Saturday?

..and I guess we have had our fill of going forward, especially when Don B and his mates want us to regress?

Great--I have found the rugby discussion.
It would be nice to see Brendan Leonard stay fit long enough to properly challenge for his position
In the Waikato Times tonight he is talking about perfecting his dive pass from the base of the scrum as he reckons it gives a split-second advantage over rampaging forwards. The biggest disappointment for me has been that Aled de Malmanche hasn't been given a run, after dragging him away from holidaying in Bali.

Our firstborn attended the following shows in the womb
Not quite the same but Travis, our firstborn, did rummage around mightily indoors when he was taken to a screening of Aliens. I don't think it scarred him as he turned out to be a philosopher.
