regarding the proposed PA picnic this Saturday at our place:
I have just posted a message on the FB Event notice, to the effect that because it is now Thursday and there has been no new activity, despite Ben’s generous offer of transportation, I have cancelled . A bit of a case of suppose they gave a war (sorry, picnic) and nobody came?
Another time, perhaps.
Many thanks to those who have been so helpful–especially Ben and Jackie

Great stuff, Emma, No delicate flowers of 18 year old Catholic girls being mistreated by the committee today, then?

Just an aside here--has anyone travelled to Cuba in the last few years? We are considering taking a trip there and I would welcome good advice.

As a happy coincidence, I spotted the album cover for the Pretty Things "Get The Picture" LP in the window of the excellent Vinyl Countdown second-hand record store on Devon Street in New Plymouth--a store right across the road from the old NP Opera House, where the infamous 1965 concert took place. I love such coincidences!
The proprietor gifted it to me and it can be added to my AudioCulture piece..Another spin on the bike along the coastal walkway in Taranaki sunshine and then off to Tropfest screenings

Not sure where to place this but the invitation is still on for a PA picnic/get-together at our place on Saturday February 2 2013. To date, there is Jackie + Ben with a people-mover (8 seats) coming (Robyn from Raglan too), which would comprise a rather small gathering. A few 'maybes' too.
So, if you are interested, place your mark on the FB invite. If you don't have access to that place, email me at lealand@waikato.ac.nz.
As most people would be coming south, it would a 90 minute trip to 637 Grey Street, Hamilton East (Grey Street runs parallel to River Road), with possible stops for ice cream at Pokeno and cheese at Mercer.
I will give it a week (we are in Taranaki for Tropfest this weekend), to see if it is a goer. Another weekend is another possibility.

Even on this site, ads are equivalent to the full page Harvey Norman newspaper ads I use to light the fire or TVCS obliterated by the remote, I seldom notice them and never click on them.
So, once again, I register my preference for a regular auto payment to PA., like I do for Scoop. Can this be done?

find me a left wing commentator or journo Oh, if I only could find a brace of such characters, in a New Zealand media still bedazzled by a nit-wit PM and his poor excuse of a government,
Hmmm--what name do you use when you are off-duty?

many on the left. Not sure where you got that notion, I think that many regard Kim D as an amusing clown, with appalling taste in music and art, but not really to be trusted as he is largely motivated by self-interest

Hmm! Camping. Tom Petty had the best thing to say on this activity: You don't have to live like a refugee
