Although, not to iOS users.
They have been promising live streaming through their iphone app for over a year now, but so far nothing has come of it.The TuneIn radio app works perfectly. I'm listening to it right now on an ipad.

Hard News: The Politics of Absence, in reply to
Who are the young Labour MPs working hard in their electorates?
She's not yet an MP, but Paula Gillon's been very visible here on the unfashionable side of the North Shore recently. I've seen her out and about at the weekend, her Flickr account seems to be full of worthy photo-ops and she had her billboards up early enough that Coleman even tweeted about it :) https://twitter.com/#!/jcolemanmp/status/117858600516460544
Given the utter lack of any vestige of Labour at all here since the last election, these are all positive signs.

We were in Phnom Penh and had returned to the hotel around 9pm just in time to flick on the TV when the second plane hit. The only channel we could get reliably was a business one (possibly CNBC or Bloomberg?) which had quite a different commentary to the other channels; they had a lot of contacts in nearby buildings and were calling them throughout. One of the calls ended with unintelligible screaming when the first tower fell, and then the two anchors argued for a while whether the long shot of NYC showed that the tower had fallen or the angle/smoke cloud was misleading. I haven't been able to find an archive of that channel anywhere.

Gareth - that's an ICQ window. The shock to me is that they still seem to exist!

For a surreal take on the whole thing, the last couple of weeks of John Oliver and Andy Zaltzman's The Bugle podcast have been hilarious, doubly so because it's nominally released from inside the Murdoch empire - it comes from the Times Online site. They seem genuinely surprised that they haven't been shut down yet :)
I'll link to Wikipedia because the Times website seems to be having a bad afternoon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bugle

I've done two stints of working from home. The first was in Sydney, for a NZ company that was about to go down the toilet and was a bit unsure of it's purpose in life. Really nice folks but I only met most of them twice and I was mostly drunk at the time. That and occasional bouts of working on New York time meant I wasn't all that sad when I was eventually laid off.
For the last three years or more I've worked from Auckland for a small, focused Aussie firm of people I know well and see a few times a year, and it's a great experience. My tips are probably the same as others:
- have a place that is "work" and preferably nothing else.
- get out of the house when you can -- I walk the kids to school and have a wander round the park on the way home, weather permitting.
- a daily list of things that will be done today helps get you back on focus when it drifts. Also yep to Formway chairs (I found a couple second hand on Trademe and they're great) and I've also been enjoying my stand up desk arrangement for nearly a year now.'

I have a steam punked commercial espresso machine.
Details? We would like them, oh yes.
