Went to Matthew Bannister's The Changing Same last night at Biddy Mulligan's. Pretty damn good. Less so was the brattish preceding act Pink Batts. Their songs were mercifully short--one voice from the crowd called out "can you play anything longer than 30 seconds?"

Old electoral rolls? They can be a can of worms. When I was last at the Turnbull Library, I flicked through rolls from the 1940s--to discover that my father appeared in two for the same year--one for a Christchurch electorate, where he appeared to be married, and one in Taranaki, where he was single. There has only ever been one Wilfred Ronald Lealand.

Josephine does all our cooking for she is so good at it (she used to teach Chinese cuisine) and I do all the rest (washing, ironing, cleaning, shopping, cat feeding). Cooking when she is absent is a bit of an ordeal and it has been largely reduced to a couple of staples: shepherd's pie, rice rissotto, stir fry. Sometimes, white bread beetroot sandwiches will do.
I have tried to recalled what I lived on when I was studying in the US. I think it was grilled cheese sandwiches, bagels, chillie, and burgers with 'fixings' piled high. -
Dear Mr Detective: I love these kind of mysteries. Like trying to figure out the origins of all the photographs of gents in uniforms, signed with affectionate messages to my mother, when we cleared out her belongings (she had also been married thrice, with an illegitimate child between the second and third ,marriage).

If so, steer her in the direction of a more suitable political party.

I have not read anything about how Radio New Zealand, NZ Film Commission and NZ On Air fared in the Budget. Is it status quo for them je further squeezing of funding?
