Well, if the claims made by A C Nielsen about Net ratings are anything like the claims they make for television ratings (viewing equates to "Presence in a room where a TV set is on"), then they are just as dubious.
Go The Chiefs!!! -
Hmm! Dressing for dinner? It could be embarrassing if you didn't, especially if the neighbours call by unexpectedly. You could also drop bits of food in the most awkward places.
I guess that the Mason case just demonstrates the impossibility of changing the minds of idealogues, despite contrary evidence staring them in the face.

Lordy, that was a close one (just back from Waikato Stadium). Saved by Stephen Donald again---despite some very sub-standard adjudication by ref Stu Dickinson.

Geoff, what's the crowd average for Waikato Stadium this year, do you know?
Sorry, I don't know--I just go for the great hamburgers! But there may be some sad truth in your claims about live audiences, for we starting going to Chiefs games 'round mid-season, when things started picking up and they started playing beautiful rugby (so much easier to stay at home and watch Sky--and avoid that annoying Possum bloke).

Stereotypically down here you'd say "Aucklanders don't care about what goes on south of the bombay hills"
Of course they do, and so do we south of the BH's. Why, just yesterday I was in Ponsonby, gazing in wonder upon the $500 shirts and $400 shoes and $1500 jackets in the 5th Avenue men's clobber shop!

More heresy: Most people don't care about the Mount Albert by-election either.
Well, around the traps this week, there seem to be many people who do.

< quote>Chiefs v Hurricanes:* The best team won</quote>
..and they will again, tonight.Declining crowds.
Well, it didn't seem like that last Saturday night, packed into the Waikato Stadium. My beloved and I had to sit rows apart, as we could only get single tickets by mid-week. Tonight's game looks to be fully occupied too.

Dr Dave (If I may presmue): I guess you have a good remedy for persistent gout? Involves hanging around railway tracks?

and you get it twice!

Time to call "Time Gentleman, Please" on certain currents in this conversation?
I expect that Russell is preparing an exciting new posting for us, at the end of a very interesting week. In the meantime, I have my tickets for the Chiefs vs Brumbies tonight!
