On one blog last night a number of members turned to watch Hosking because of the entertainment of his expected meltdown. He delivered! A Caricature of Hosking. Very very funny if you like that sort of humour.

Is it possible that the polls cause the voters to vote to match the polls?

Hard News: A thundering clash of, in reply to
I always thought Seymour was sort of interesting to listen to. When I saw him on Backbenches, and Read of his vindictive trash talk, I too found him disgusting. If he represents the true nature of Act then damn them.

Patrick Gower actually apologised to James Shaw this morning for claiming yesterday's Newshub-Reid poll had preciptated his co-leader's resignation
Materia decided to quit on Wednesday morning. She was told about Paddy's poll later in the afternoon. So the poll did not cause her exit. Paddy is wrong of course.

John Campbell interviews Bill English at a visit today. John's repeated point was "If it was OK for Barclay to continue last year, what makes it necessary for him to resign now? What changed?" Clip is 7minutes long.
Bill's broad grin becomes lost in his growing frown.

The Marlborough Express has been an excellent provincial paper owned by Fairfax.
Experimentally it has changed from May 1 to publishing much local news only on Mon Wed Fri. For 2 weeks we get the Press on Tuesday and Thursday. And then...?
It is true that by the time news reaches print we have mostly already read it on line somewhere but handy to cut out an important bit on paper and easily refer back to a recent item.
Will we miss the Express? Yes but... -
Brilliant Steven. But the PM dislikes satire especially when directed at him. If you see a dark car parked in your street at night with plates "DF Coverup/cleanup" be prepared.
The PM did say this morning that an announcement will be made soon, as soon as David collates the poll results. -
Imagine this. A teacher has a class of 30 nine year olds. One of them becomes angry and hysterical. The class although upset do not make things worse but the class program grinds to a halt. There are no other adults to help.
What can the teacher do with an angry out of control kid and protect the rights of other children and behave with due regard to the dignity of child and parents?
Time out somewhere perhaps?
This dilemma for the teacher and the child is often not considered in the light of angry public responses. -
A compelling and brave story Steven. Thanks.
Taxpayers money should be available to fund the groups who help people survive disastrous beginnings. Unfortunately funding is being cut or cancelled. In our area 14 such groups have been cut. Instead this Government has a crazy preference for the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff. So who can those in need turn to?
If it takes a community to raise a child, should the community be funded by Taxpayers? -
As with the building boom claimed by another Key line, the number of consents are lower in the rate per 100,000 population, than they were in the naughties.
When politicians talk about the current building boom being the biggest in history, they need to look at this chart. https://t.co/RWODhUEZGx
