Time for a rugby-themed discussion? The Blues almost redeemed themselves against the Chiefs last night but we are revelling down in the Waikato in the 58 top-of-the-table position,

Rothko, eh? The hotel I stayed in (The Nines) on my short visit to Portland OR earlier this year had an enormous Rothko in the lobby. I should have twigged it was going to be expensive accommodation--had to pay my university a whole bunch of $$$ as I over-spent my allowance.
Re music--has anyone else heard of The Punch Brothers? They are really rather good.

Looks like a Solex motorised bike to me. I used to see them toodling around Christchurch,

Well, Tom--every time I have been along to Media 7 there have been a heap of young 'uns in the audiences, along with us of an older hue. When I have taken vanloads of my students along they have loved it.
What I particularly enjoy about TVNZ7 is the element of surprise. Because there is no real schedule to consult, you stumble across the most interesting stuff. Certainly Maori Television is great (Native Affairs is tremendous) but it is not PSB in terms of serving a wide spectrum of interests.
In respect of Coleman; maybe he needs to go back to intermediate school, to learn simple statistics.

The building that Hitler had earmarked for his London HQ? I had a temporary office on the 4th floor when I was on sabbatical in 2007. Creepy building!

"Awkard charm'. I like that. Just surprised there aren't more fans around this place rather than snotty comments.

I guess that familiarity can lead to neglect...or even contempt...but SS has been an important part of our family life for the last 20 years (and the reason we seldom see Closeup or Campbell). I really like how it takes multiculturalism and all other kinds of identities as unremarkable and just part of life in Aotearoa....and good villains to hiss at!
It was fun doing research on it in the 1990s, when Tony Holden was in charge (he wanted to know more about its younger audience), -
Not such a great food experience. We stayed in a Mt Albert motel on Saturday night and there was a heady smell of rancid fat hanging over the suburb--maybe even drifting towards Port Chev. Is this usual?

Just caught up with your Media 7 appearance, Jackson. Excellent!
Where are the NZ Herald on the site? Maybe they have disappeared. Regarding the uncredited Hamilton photo accompanying yours--was it one of mine?

Where can I find this worthy organisation...at the front or rear of Fonterra?
