Town Hall projection work here:
I'll be wandering down tomorrow night methinks. -
Sorry, too many zeroes in there. Yes, $50m

Cycleway is turning into a series of Great Rides (puntastic title at least) for $500m. Sounds good actually (although tourism budget is staying static so they're taking that $500m from somewhere else)

make of the near quasi-deification of fallen policeman taking place throughout the MSM?
Isn't it just the near quasi-deification found at the funeral of any reasonably decent bloke? Somewhat (understandably) amplified by the nature of both his job and his death undertaking that job.

My standard prostate/prostrate gag doesn't work so well online huh.

I had recently been trying to tone down my tendency to advocatus diablo (which even my pseudo-science HR pyshcometrics tell me tend to).
Then I "met" (in the textual online sense) Craig R. I prostate myself before you sir. -
So given the cost it has to be cut and cover yeah? So perhaps they start the tunnel at New North Rd and cut up Albie Turner Field to then re-cover?
Amazing though - how exactly did they take all this cost out yet still keep cut-and-cover tunnel for most of it???

I'm no trekkie (I sat threw the first bit going "huh, I thought Vulcan was in the other movies?") but really enjoyed it too.
When the "big twist" started to emerge, I thought "this is going to be the worst deux ex machina ever possibly ever made ever". And it was. But it was turned into such a decent story that I had to tip the hat.And Ensign Ricky. Man. Laughed my ass off (probably one of the few in jokes I got).

You can't be serious? Rodney Hide gets to decide, without consultation, a body of people to veto the decisions of elected local government and install their own CEO in the council?
That's a mindboggling railroading of basic democracy?
