Of course atheism is in opposition to any theism, not just Christianity.
And most atheists I know, far from not having a positive belief system of their own, believe in the scientific method as the basis for knowledge of the world. And liberal humanism as the basis for ethics. It's a pity we don't have a good word for this package.

The hardcore Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Catholicism, and Islam, are down on any kind of sexual fun.
Apparently Islam considers celibacy to be bad and sex to be beneficial, provided it's within a heterosexual marriage. And sex doesn't have to be for procreation; it's a good thing in itself.
This is quite a contrast with Christian tradition.

Isn't it the case that any form of contraception or STI-prevention is a compromise? All methods are going to compromise someone's pleasure (or in some cases, health) somehow. I don't know any women or men who actively enjoy using condoms, but many of us do use them because they are way better (for us) than the alternatives. No method is going to suit everybody; a lot of people find them the most acceptable option. I've used them in several relationships over a period of many years.

Leonhart Fuchs gives his name to fuchsias. BTW I think "Fooks" are what Merivale couples have when they're feeling randy.

Derived from the names, I reckon – “jock” as in “jockstrap” definitely is.
But Jock’s also a name…!
So, in the case of ‘a good rogering’, we think there might have been a particularly…prolific Roger?

Randy isn’t the worst of it. Plenty of folk out there called Fanny or Dick. Or Roger. Or Willy.
Do you think the slang terms are in some way derived from the names? Or just etymological coincidence?
