Nah, I like the divide. Of course stereotypes are limited. I prefer to think in terms of archetypes, from whom we are all descended.
Aucklander = wanker. Southerner = parochial halfwits. Wellingtonians = miserable, trench coated, civil servant trudging through the sleet and hail between anonymous governmental office jobs and overdrowded boarding houses in Mt Vic run by ageing alcoholic mad women.
Ain't nut'n wrong with that, is there?

Why can they not just say "we didn't know?"
Because that would go against the grain of self aggrandising arrogance which their quali'y edjamacation bestowed upon them. Actually, human ego, funny thing, even without the posh schooling.
Good ideas are first: flatly denied, second: ridiculed, and third: accepted as common sense. But the bugger's'll never just say "yeah, you were right all along."

Hi all. Sorry, struck down by germs yesterday. Thanks for feedback.
a significant chunk of child-caring-age women watch Coronation Street
Yep. That's us alright.

*Sigh*. Is it not enough for folks to just view stuff the way it was shot and cut?

I've relocated it from on top of the telly, really, probably the noisiest possible location, to on top of the stereo amp in the corner of the room. Not bad for starters.
Update Worst feature so far: an occasional tendency to spontaneously change channels. One minute it's a biog of Saddam Hussein from Maori TV, the next - blammo - the Family Health syndicated pharmaceutical ads. That's a cut to make strong folk weep.

Jacque Derrida reminds us that an apology is only meaningful if offered for an act that is unforgivable. His example is the S.A. reconciliation thing, but of course, there are more personal possibilities ...
I often wonder if apologies get a bad rap in western culture. We tend to suck at them (now, why might that be?).
Some Asian cultures are just brilliant at it, and offer them in job-lots by the thousand.

Surely, The Hives.
@Kyle:
Bees can't see red at all.
But what about those pesky bulls?

@ Roger
Ha! But then guns start to appear.
"Ouch!"
"Sorry. Did I miss?"
"Not quite." -
You're lucky to have 'em at all. You should have constructed an entirely different set of hypotheses about the presence of veroa mite and kep MAF appraised of your findings.
Of course, you may have endured crippling injuries as a result, but that shouldn't slow down your productivity.
Who knows, if the bees survived the lawnmower, maybe the mites weren't so lucky.

Rik and Josh are both right. Everyone's always talking about optimising the harbour. But somehow, that always seems to draw short of recreational access to the wet bit of it.
