Aw, shucks, thanks Jackson. This blog is such an awesome place for sharing, and everyone posts such interesting things! It's been quite a pick-me-up for me over the last couple of weeks when I've been feeling a bit stressed. Arohanui, everyone.
And tomorrow I'm off for a sojourn in sunny Dunedin! So dry the water pipes are rupturing! Apparently. No doubt my arrival with togs and sunscreen will precipitate a sudden change....

I know! There are some young twins in my extended family, and Hebe is quite right, they are like baby birds. I have a video of them aged about 2, perched side-by-side on one of their Papa's legs, demanding to be fed the toast he is trying to eat, squealing "More, more!" after each bite they are given. Papa is very lucky if he gets one bite in three.

What is the council’s policy on pay rises?
I think we have to remember that Maryatt's pay was negotiated and arranged by the Council. I don't think he should have accepted the raise, but AFAIK he fulfilled the agreed conditions and so was contractually entitled to it. So we should be demanding accountability from Council as well as from Maryatt. Who set his salary, and who approved the raise?
