Yes, I heard that too. Good stuff! I had pretty much given up on NatRadio in the pm but I was home, working my way through a pile of essay marking.
My beef with The Panel is not so much with the right wing bozos they invite in, but because they favour 'personalities' who already have ample opportunities to spout off in the media.

Couldn't believe it when I took a turn down a side street off Cardiff's main drag, and there was bloody Cardiff Arms Park! Unbelievable!
Not there for much longer, from what I hear. The developments on Cardiff Bay are probably a good example of how NOT to re-develop docklands--a hodge-podge of commercial and civic buildings, with poor access and no sense of a co-ordinated plan.
I was always amused, when we lived in Cardiff in 2004, that they would sell beer in the Millennium Stadium if a rugby match was on, but not for soccer games (when the Stadium was standing for the being-rebuilt Wembley Stadium). Instead, the city was turned into a war-zone, with mounted poleese and mobile booze barns on every corner.

During last week, the Academy cinema in Auckland was listing its screenings of "Trouble is My Business"*, as being about the experiences of the "Assistant Principle" at Aorere College. I suggested they change it and the Weekend Herald did have"Principal".
* A tremendously good NZ doco!!

humourless political correctness
There really is no space for this "dreary and humourless" phrase in our discussions. Accusations of 'political correctness' usually means, 'I don't like what this person is saying so I will shut down any further debate'. To be fair, we should also consider that 'political correctness' is a characteristic across the political spectrum eg for ACT, it mean primacy of the free market, dismissal of alternative perspectives, a fear of democracy.

I tried three different stores in Queen Street (including RealG) on Thursday, seeking "Sacred and Profane and Sugarcane" and not one had it in stock. Is EC really that obscure these days?
I was reading a review of the Neil Young "Archive" collection in the New Yorker (June 8-15) and Ben Greenman did berate him a bit for bewailing corporate power in "Fork in the Road", then "charging through the nose for the most self-aggrandizing product imaginable" ($US300 for the Blu-ray set)
