Hard News: Dirty Politics, in reply to
yep and no one will care - how many times has been been caught lying?
One more time won't make any difference -sure there will be headlines and those who care to be informed will be upset/angry/happy/whatever
http://www.reddit.com/r/newzealand/comments/29406c/the_big_list_of_john_keys_lies/
I'd like to think I'll be proven wrong and the public will face the reality that has been staring them in the face for a number of years now and get informed and vote accordingly... nah can't see it

I wish we could hear more tales fromChristchurch and other towns and cities too -as someone who has lived in a few small regional places the only time the news ever mentions them is always in relation to crime or some other disaster & sport - its simply not good enough!
As a Christchurch born Aucklander I feel a huge disconnect with what is happening in the city of my birth - my friends and family still there don't talk about it, much. My visits to the city haven't helped but deepen my sense of helplessness. I fear my donations have been earmarked for a stadium, my tax contribution to a convention centre not one of the many in need..
Thank you Gerard and all of those who continue to speak via social media, Campbell live, the press online and here at PA, you all give me some small understanding and connection to you there - for this I am grateful as you and the city DO matter and most of us care

Hard News: Show some decency, in reply to
watching the first leaders debate and Mr Key kept talking about their "plan", yet after nearly six years of them ruling (I don't think they govern) I have no idea what their plan is, nor is there any evidence of it
When I see policy released I check the blogs I trust to see their, (usually more educated), view of it - No right turn is usually my first stop. I will then look at the documents themselves. Quick easy and virtually free means to be slightly informed

totally agree with you Ben
I've never had so much information about the actual policy of major parties before
and possibly its never been easier to find parties polices - generally hidden somewhere on the parties website
The debates and election seem to be treated like a badly run sports match...

I think people need to say national have done a terrible job of managing the economy - lets not beat about the bush or rely on a natural disaster to make the books look better than they would

Hard News: UPDATED: Media Take: Election…, in reply to
Ironically, it's a great groove. But I won't even be linking to it.
let down by such pathetic lyrics - they're way better than this, could have been a great song but alas not so
Must admit I find it funny many involved in Dirty Politics directly have taken such a dim view (understatement) of the song, do these people not have mirrors?

Speaker: If political parties were beer ..., in reply to
I appreciate woman as much as men love a good beer
While I actually really like the post, I should have pointed that out perhaps... and totally get the humour and the Grant nailed my choice of beer and party, its very male centric in its beerishness, imo

no wine options, we're good at wine allegedly
no female option eitherso basically if you don't like beer or are not a MAN you're stuffed

HA - I have that reaction to a lot of acts these days.. must be this younger generation and their lack of adhering to genre specific music naming conventions as assumed and taken for granted by older people
I thought I liked Caribou most when he's Daphni and these latest tracks are ruining that preconception... and I still have a problem with his Manitoba guise purely cause of the name... bloody Canadians *shakes rush by the collar*
To make it even more confusing the albums coming out on Drag City, further ruing my they do interesting indie stuff buzz
to quote the goons... It's all rather confusing really
