Abraham Lincoln didn't have to deal with Paddy Gower demanding he account for every piss splatter in the urinal.

Hard News: The humanity, in reply to
Cunliffe made them do it
As Keir points out, he and his proxies have also done it in the past. There is no contender with completely clean hands.

To add to what Emma and tussock said, I was part of a team gathering advance vote data from the rolls on Friday night (with the consent of the Returning Officer, of course), as many teams from Labour and the Greens did. Certainly if there had been any shagging around with double voting in the advance period, we would know.
Because of my professional associations I also know numerous people who are intimately involved with the electoral process, from generating the roll to tallying the provisional counts. Fraud on a scale that would make a difference would require co-operation of many people whose integrity I will absolutely swear to.
This is simply a fantasy.

Hard News: The sole party of government, in reply to
a sudden 45% floor from out of nowhere.
So, when this came up, Labour was about 1 female MP away from that anyway. Also, the "man ban" slam was coined to describe allowing Labour Electorate Committees to choose to have a female only shortlist if they wanted. If they wanted. AFAIK, no LEC voted to do this. The whole thing was a massive fucking Slater-initiated beatup, and since no one seems to have predicted that would happen or work out with caucus and the leader what their response would be, there was no way to hose it down with the boring facts.
"From out of nowhere" basically isn't the case.

To reinforce what Keir said. This isn't push polling. Push polls are short and blanket everyone to do their work. They're basically untenable for cost reasons in NZ.
Yes the questions are leading, but they're testing how well party messaging is working.
I don't see anything nefarious in this. It does demonstrate how the Nats use their huge donations though.

You can nuke mine too, if you want, I'm not bothered.

Speaker: The End of Trust, in reply to
Deborah Pead, under her own Twitter handle, rather than PeadPR doing a very nice round of spin
Eh, pretty sure that's just what she really thinks.

Well, it didn't make any difference to my vote, because I was never going to vote National anyway...

Up Front: Oh, God, in reply to
Couldn’t a deity, if She chose, come into and out of what we call ‘existence’ at a rate of variable oscillation beyond human measurement, making this point moot?
Yet again, I regret that PAS does not have "favourite" buttons.

Up Front: Oh, God, in reply to
Either deity exists or it doesn’t, there are no other rational positions to take.
Oh dear. Agnostics everywhere will be shamed by this.
