Hi Robin, greed is not the reason - it was simply because we had a new camping manager, a new parking crew, some new front of house etc. It's a huge job to process that many people. yes we had increased the number of people but we have to because it is a very expensive production and without a few more people you simply wouldn't get the production values and the content that Splore prides itself on. Every two years the costs escalate - and we have to change to keep the festival viable. We take the feedback seriously and will be having major debriefs etc - but please be assured it is not about greed. People's experience counts first at splore

This is unfortunately a common occurrence. Hopefully one day very soon events will realise that many of their audience/clients will be trying to access the site on their smartphone on the day and that it needs to be a lot easier to navigate. And no, it doesn't need a separate event app. -

Also, unless you've been so clever with your Flash stuff (which means taking as much time over it as you would with HTML), then Google has real difficulty indexing it.

Splore did have an iOS app, by the same developer, and that was very poorly designed too. It annoys me that developers can sell clients on “brand” sites of so little use. An event site needs to offer up information about the event.

I believe in conjunction with this that Phantom have even managed to get a Janet Frame poem, The End, up on a billboard in Times Square...

Mine too! As you say, the way J Star bounced around the Sleng Teng was a thing of great beauty and genius - it goes down as one of the great "yeeeeahh!"s of all time. The pleasure, the privilege was ours... :)
