    The Goodrs and Cong Dairy, corner of K Rd and City Rd. The result of the old Hunters & Collectors sign getting mixed up with the Good Morning Dairy sign.

    Shutterbug Joseph from today's Hagley Park nativity event (pic courtesy of Gudrun Gisela).
    I believe that what he's doing is known as chimping.

    Case in point Smith's Bookshop owner only found out the shop was being pulled down, last week, when a friend phoned him to see if he knew about it!
    So much for CERA and the council's promises of keeping people informed and able to access their property...
    Well it would be laughable
    if it wasn't so sad...

    Jaysus in a portaloo , after all this time. Bloody philistine ineptitude.

    Never mind the Bollards, pt 2...

    nativity event

    ...and here the 3 Wise Bollards are seen preparing to go look for a babe hiding in a one star accommodation...
    (or more correctly a scene from The Reserve Bank Annual & NSFW launch in chch in 2010. Bollards include Dr D. Haywood, J. Wylie and I forget who the 3rd one was. sorry)

    Happy Solstice everyone...
    - one year that's all we got
    till things change...

    That is utterly amazing. Thanks Ian, it's like a Christmas present. Sometimes you see something and think 'damn, I wish I was that person!'

    Merry Chchristmas.

    Merry Chchristmas.

    And indeed I swear we will
    have a Merry Ch-ch-chchristmas...

    ...swearing is easy in a town with...
    <drum roll FX>
    ...Turret's syndrome...
    <badum tish FX>

    now I shall go unwarp my presence...
    y'all have fun, relax and be safe, y'hear!

    <drum roll FX>

    Is this the drum roll you had in mind, that you've swearing at?

    The last 24 hours recorded by the digital paper roll on the digital drum of the McQueens Valley seismograph, 20 km south of Ch-Ch-Ch.

    Guess this should have been on the #EQNZ thread - I'll put a note there.

    And here's one I prepared earlier, starts with the quiet optimism of Friday morning at the top, nek minnit ...

    And for many hours thereafter - the 6.38am Saturday alarm shake 5.1 magnitude is the one on the bottom line.

    It truly looks horrible, about 7pm Friday it got to me here far away in my guts and tears, not knowing what was going on underneath and what was coming next for you good Christchurch people.

    How hard is it? If you know which building you are knocking down there must be paperwork that will inform you of who to contact. But then again... if you're only in it for the money...

    One does wonder if someone in Chch has done something really smiteworthy. I mean, this is getting ridiculous.
