People who like this sort of thing might like Wired's Spider Hall of Fame. And this bizarre article about making cloth from spider silk.

Blair Street, Wellington
When I worked in Blair Street
it was mostly just the vege and flower market area
with the bus depot at the end towards the sea
bit different these days I hear...
What arach!This is a spider!
that's a Rorschach test!

Hi Tom, same kind of car, but unlikely to be the same car as I took my photo in Cambridge (England) in July.

Sorry Jackson. I'll go away and leave you in peace.I just figured it's timing out before it finishes posting. That is the carpark I get. Really sorry anyone out there.

I actually jumped back from the screen just then. Thanks for that. ;-)
Sorry. Be grateful for the screen. That's the first one we've found. Captured it for venom milking - it was all jumpy, fangy and what you looking at? Scary as.
It's so great you're getting into this PA thing by the way.
You invited me over and I've taken the comfy chair and helped myself to the fridge, I know. It's the combination of words and pictures, the stories, the snaps, the witty, the pithy, the poetry. The irreverence and the irrelevance, the tangential and the sublime. Something very fresh here, in terms of visual writing and graphic storytelling. And of course, I have time on my hands at the moment.

Just wanted to say thanks for all your hard work there Jackson. Think I sorted all my glitches out. Damian jinxed me. ;))

City Scenes and points in time –
Auckland’s Ferry Building and its Mammonish context, 1 October 2008. Two weeks after the collapse of Lehman Bros, the construction cranes are still busy on borrowed time and money. For many years my Dad travelled every Wednesday by ferry from the Tamaki River to here to work as a volunteer guide at the National Maritime Museum just alongshore on Hobson Wharf. -
What I had in mind when I took that photo – an early Waipu tile from the mid 1970s when I was most familiar with Auckland, about the time I left it. The Ferry Building tower lines up with edge of the same building behind, but that was then Air New Zealand’s building in its proud (overly proud?) pre-Erebus era.
The tile photographed 5 Oct 2008 on my parents’ dining table where it has lived since new. But this was the last photo I took at their place before he died suddenly a few days later. So it represents him too, and he loved those old double-ended ferries dating from his youth in the 1920s.

Hey Chris. Thanks for sharing this with us. I've got a photo of the Ferry building from a similar angle taken in 1989. I'll try to dig it out.
The process of finding those negatives can be quite a challenge. Since we launched Capture, I have this image of people holding up negative strips to the light to identify lost memories in acetate to share. That, quite frankly, fills me with glee.

I'm going for a three fo'. Thanks for that. Hoping we can sustain it. Everyone has jumped in so enthusiastically. Might have to work out a way to reward people more for dropping by.
Hmm, scheming time.

Cheery picking. Queen City scene, and in 2011. ;-)
If you missed it (which I did) the Town Hall marked 100 years last week, as highlighted here. It's certainly played a big part in my Auckland life, with graduations, many concerts, notably for me Shihad and Kraftwerk in the past few years , and a very special wedding of our dearest friends.
Like the Ferry Building, it does have an iconic presence, IMhO.

Dont bother.
The place is cooking, is it's own reward- -
merc,
Driving to work I saw a man standing taking a photo of a road, car door beside him open, I thought, probably a PAS Capturist going about their work.

I stood in the dome once upon a time (working on roof restoration) and there are pencil drawings up there of the harbour and boats and Rangitoto, done by the workmen over 100 years ago, they're choice.
