My old man and I, we didn't get on a lot. We butted heads always. It always seemed I was on the cusp of getting a bloody good hiding, or the buckle end of a belt in my direction. But one thing we could agree on, was country music. So my first major gig exposure is an awesome memory for me.
Kenny Rogers / Dolly Parton, at Mt Smart. I woulda been abt 12 I guess, and my Dad had to go and stand closer to the stage cause of being deaf, but it was one of those few times where me and him saw eye to eye. I treasure that gig.

If you do check out and enjoy that Noah Slee track, head along to soundcloud.com/noahslee where you can check the rest of this EP released earlier this year. Mighty fine stuff.

Late to this thread, but may I offer my most heartfelt congrats to Godfrey who was an amazing MD. I'm biased, cause I love that guy like brother, but it was my fav Silver Scrolls I've ever been a part of (I only get to go to these types of things when I play)!
And another hoghlight was that Sam noticed my new shirt. Shot, bro.

S/O to Parksie and Ladi for the coup of getting Wajeed on board, too. And this being the first Jeedo beat released from the album, man, so exciting.

Adding my congrats as well. What an amazing site, I do really believe it to be a taonga.
Sometimes when you're looking for gigs or worrying about the day to day stuff, you get caught up in your own musical journey. Audio Culture tho, man, I feel more connected to our musical history through this site. It's so good to be able to stand back and just look, and absorb, the stories.
Looking at the site this morning, and seeing Dave McArtney, ka mau te wehi.
Cher!

I didn't watch the whole debate last night as much as I did want to, but the slightly sledging-takin the piss outta opposition type approach actually turned me off.
But my concern with regards to Duncan and his trying of Juicy Puff last week, was that there was no sense of a "control-group" type assessment. As in, was, or is Duncan a user of Marijuana? Does he have any prior knowledge/experience of the possible effect through personal use? Did he have "any" sort of constitution that could skew it either way, meaning getting waaaaay too "stoned"...or, feeling bugger all of it. To me, it was more an ad for his show, over being an actual test of the product. That's just me, tho.

Thanks for coming through for that BaseFM Digital Liberation launch bro. Can't believe we been going for almost 9 years!
