Oh, bugger. I am bringing up a vanload of students up to join the audience of Media3 that night and, as much as I wish I could, I can't really take them on to the museum. Might warp their innocent little minds.
Roger Horrick's Len Lye performance opens that night too, Too much choice!The Big Screen Symposium in Auckland at the weekend was great--nicely rounded off with 'conversations' with Sam Neill (who was very witty) and Australian director Gillian Armstrong.

I felt much the same when I was last in Christchurch; just photos of the remaining cinemas and the row of teetering shops in High Street, where I found the old Shirley Temple scrapbook years ago,

oh, and the Bridgeway won the Best Cinema award in New Zealand this year.

My current favourite is Fiona Apple's "The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do". [pause for breath!]. It is kind of wonderful.
