  • Hard News: Put on the full armour of God,

The absolute unquestioning belief that a divine being rules our lives, despite the absence of any evidence to prove it, is a form of thought after all.

But did you make the thought up or was it placed in your head by numerous visits to vivid shocking statues of a man being tortured with nails.

One thought to rule them all.

and suppresses intellectual thought I take issue.

It's (organised religion) design is to supply answers fast. It's not a vehicle for intellectual rigour although it's possible to make a living pretending it is.

Nothing from Christ himself; of course, US 'Christians' don't have much use for that Commie faggy peacenik stuff he used to spout.

Obama needs to let America get educated about themselves however it's not going to be painless.

The previous administration is covered in blood and torture,he's not releasing the photos because he knows the American image abroad will slip even further in the warzone. How much did Bush fuck that country up?

  • Hard News: That Buzzing Sound,

This family shit was a big winner for the initial flame of United Future .The family is a very poorly supported insitution. A vote winner.

If we are going to recognise the family as an area of governmental concern and there is a tonne of science out there that encourages that notion we should put amazing people in this role .Running the slow hardcore beauracracy of the dole doesn't nessarily make you a strong advocate of the family. She is a poor appopintment to this role in that she doesn't seem to be any kind of expert on this rather new and developing science of how to make happy family cities .

  • Hard News: When that awful thing happens,

I hear what you're saying Matthew, it's just every six months (my guess) a cop seems to be faced down with a shotgun of some description. I don't think that's cool for an unarmed force.

Gunlaw everywhere may be shit, probably is? If you and me were cops should we be worried?

I agree with giovanni. Great stuff Bart.

Excuse my ignorance here but what is the worst GE crop ever identified and what was the impact?

And what would we be missing if GE was banned worldwide, (hypothetical question).

His friends seem oddly blithe about him tipping into a homicidal rage because someone came to his house.

Sure, I just can't get my head around why a guy who lives half a century suddenly unleashes that rage.I would have thought age would have bought some control but of course I'm going off limited information. It's just bloody sad.

and Matthew I see your arguement that gun registries are historically poor but I am always open to the ideas of this years policy wonks. hell, why not?
