What a great topic. The problem is that we have such a surfeit of self-satirising around--from Key's and Bank's selective amnesia, to Dotcom's antics.

Haven't been here for a while but there is news:
* a new 26 seat cinema has opened as an adjunct to Finns Hotel in Paekakariki;
* the Lighthouse Cuba (Wigan Street, Wellington) is due to open in mid-October;
* the Focal Point Cinemas (Feilding and Leven) have taken over the Hastings cinema (presumably the Readings venue which closed earlier this year);
* the Dargaville community group are on the way to bringing back a dedicated cinema to a town which hasn't had one for 30 years.There you go .....

On older music, in the interest of historical symmetry , I should go see The Pretty Things at the Powerstation in December 11. As a very young sprout, I was at the New Plymouth concert which famously led to them being banned for life from New Zealand (a ban which has presumably expired, or maybe TPTs are the undead?)
