  • Hard News: America: Chill out!,

This is also why relatively small changes in wording can trigger dramatic shifts in support for the public option, which has been as high as 83 percent in some polls and as low as 35 percent in others depending on who is doing the polling and how they're asking the questions

Political information seems to drift out out haphazardly like a fog to the many citizens of that great nation. In a way the rise of bullshit media has disorientated the decent over worked middle american. The reds aren't under the bed anymore, in fact they make the beds, but there's a info-cloud-mess left over from the Cheney years of fear everywhere.

  • Hard News: The next bylaw will ban irony,

Thanks for the references Rich Lock. The mystery of gangs is how the fuck do you stop them forming or how do you reform them.

I'd guess he probably sits on the opposite side of the fence from most of us politically

Gangs in New Zealand are an unstudied mystery. Almost certainly these gangs would contain some good strategic minds. They are outside the law in that they have made their own laws more important.

and some of these gangs must be making some good dosh and others must just squeak along. How are they operating?

  • Hard News: Dead Elephant Frenzy,

    Kashin memories.

Every kid at my primary school in the 1970's had an ASB kashin moneybox and ASB banking was a school activity. The cult of kashin started very young.

  • Hard News: No Surprises,

but I'd stand up and cheer the first politician who had the balls to tell Grey Power that the entire world does not revolve around them

Yeh, but your talking about folks who are slowly saying goodbye to the entire world. Grey Power seems to lack a vision beyond their own deaths which is sad in itself. When i'm in grey power I'm gonna be pushing for Sonic Youth to rewrite the national anthem.
