I think there is- in fact, Listener cartoonist Chris Slane got on the bandwaggon as soon as Douglas announced his candidacy a few months back.
Which reminds me that Slane has stood out as a leftie bastion among the rightward drift of the Listener, with his cartoons often in stark contrast to the Jane Clifton columns they accompanied.

Incidentally, how many commentator have already invoked Night of the Living Dead when talking about Douglas? Seems like that's a meme that will stick
Isn't there a Trace Hodgson cartoon along those lines?

Where I come from "y" and "w" are perfectly servicable vowels.
What, the Kapiti Coast?
On the other hand, what could be more kiwi than coming from a place with no vowels? Brundwur, whuch us nur Jullie Purk.

Re Wishart:
What does he do now that there’s a change of government?
Oh, I'm sure he'll find some Natactuf MPs with shocking secrets to uncover, such as a same-sex lover or believing in evolution.

That would be 19 Hollyford Avenue, Bryndwr.
Bryndwr suffers severe deprivation when it comes to vowels. Otherwise, not so much.

the Sky City Convention Centre isn't a bad venue if you want to hold a rather large function in the CBD
Plus, the Sky Tower is John Key's favourite building.

Sorry, that was a bit slow!

Roy Morgan poll's out!!
Labour 34.5
National 42
NZ First 4.5
Green 10
United Future 1
Maori Party 2.5
ACT 4
Other 1.5So, in pure % terms, that's 46 for Nat+ACT, 44.5 for Lab+Green. Either would need Maori Party support to form a govt, with NZF as a potential wildcard if they grab an electorate or another .5%. Can anyone more realsistically break it down to seats?

Interesting that today's DomPost, in summarising various possible outcomes, felt fit to mention that a Labour-Green coalition would be "the most left wing government since 1999, and possibly since 1972". It didn't occur to them to point out that a National-Act coalition might be the most right-wing government for a long time. But anything you can do to scare the punters, right?

I've been trying not to think too hard about it, hoping that the polls might start creeping back towards the leftish side of the spectrum. Today's polls have made me sick to the stomach: while I'd have been deeply disappointed by a National-led government, at least it might have been forced to compromised if it had had to come to coalition agreements with a range of minor parties. But to give free reign to a National-Act coalition of rednecks and rogergnomes? That's a horrifying prospect.
Oh well: who knows how things might turn out. I'm telling myself that polls don't always tell the full story. Still, I'm not expecting that at my election party tomorrow night I'll be able to put aside the Creme de Menthe and fill the water cooler with Champagne instead.
