I'm just wondering how long it will be before the RMA is replaced with the RPMA: the "Raping the Planet for Money" Act.

I had a workmate tell how she was embarrassed to tell her in-laws that she was pregnant because it (rather strongly) implied she had been having sex with their son.
I'd have thought the implication would have been worse if she hadn't been having sex with their son.

For a long time, I referred to my partner as my lover. For some reason, that seriously weirds people out.
I also hate the word "partner", as it makes the two of you sound like a law firm. And I also like the term "lover", since it makes no assumptions about gender, seriousness or exclusiveness, and also encapsulates what it's all about: loving.
The only trouble is that unless you are French or having an affair, it comes across as unbearably pretentious. Not a problem for me, but others don't feel comfortable with it.

That horrible horrible HORRIBLE Toyota ad with the little boy who goes driving and picks up his girlfriend. Don't ask me why because I know logically it's just an ad, but I hate it and that little boy with the intensity of a thousand white-hot suns.
I know why I hate it so much: it combines two of my least favourite things in the worls. SUVs and babies. *shudder*

And there's always the odd seditionist.

Ah, that explains why I've never seen them. Ta for the explanation.

Who the heck planted this story given that the guy is from an American-based think-tank I can only guess.
He goes on to say that if inefficient use of energy causes global warming ("contentiously", of course) then what are we worrying about? People's houses will be warmer and so they'll all be healthy.
Sigh. Because we all know that climate change is all about making us nice and toasty.

I'm thinking you could write a Master's thesis based on that photo...
I did feel a little bit queasy on Monday when I first saw that photo. Isn't it good, though, that the Nats are now here to work for ordinary, decent, hard-working Kiwi battlers rather than the liberal latte-sipping elites? And there'll be no nanny state to take away our shower heads and Chanel handbags!

The Muffin Break chain
So it would seem that the Muffin Break demographic fairly closely matches that of the country, with perhaps more Labour & Green voters. Excuse my ignorance, but what is the Muffin Break chain? I've vaguely heard of them, but I'd assumed they were an overseas chain since I don't think I've ever seen one. Where are they?

My coal fuelled nosehair removal unit is quite safe.
Hummph. All of my nosehair is fuelled by renewable sources.
