But there has to be something wrong when Sensing Murder gets a million bucks and FoC got nothing.
I think alot of the crap we get subjected to (if we are stupid enough to watch) stems from production companies slinging a few ideas around at the pub at lunchtime(seen it) then after a few pints like each others stupid ideas or can't think of any but one more drink should help then decide TV buys all this crap anyway so then it's an easy sell because they already have a demograph and then agencies make copies of this crap and badly and we get to watch them instead of FoC because then they would need another lunch and more ideas they couldn't find last time...and...

So it is also general consensus Chavs can be guys too and some come from Kent. So, what Paul Rowe said also is to a t

I met one last year. (In Newfoundland of all places).
Hah! those Essex girls , they get around:)

And Rob,
Westpacs are supposed to be authentic(read your comment after writing my other one) My friends agency is called Real People. They have used her for ads but I don't think the script is authentic. -
Sofie, forgive my ignorance but what's a chav?
Okay after much discussion on said night, it was decided by English, Scottish and Irish that
a: A chav is a good type of chic ,(insert white trash/tart)
b: Probably from Essex.
Likes and uniformly wears adidas cardigans (with 2 white stripes down outer arms) and probably track pants in pink..
c: will probably be at the Local on the corner (uk).
But generally it's an English thing. You just have to be there .and when you see one you just know.:)
oh, and as a friend suggested. Ozzy version would be a combination of 'Kev and Shaz" -
The ads aren't terribly complex. They involve looking at the camera and saying some lines. I know that acting's harder than it looks, but it's not that hard. We're talking about a 30-second commercial, not a LotR-length epic.
It is not so hard to find a look (yes, have made ads) but, so often it's easier to go through the talent agencies so they can do your request and tick all the boxes before they audition. Then you can begin the rest, like location, coordination of everyones time, design, art department , production, etc etc . One westpac ad required 2 gay guys. My friend was a bit perturbed (her agency), she wanted to know an appropriate way to ask if your'e gay or not. They wanted "authentic". She felt it was discriminatory. I was told once I would be perfect for a Macdonalds ad. Had the look they were after, at which moment I pointed out, I bet I didn't have the mouth they wanted to hear.Quite anti that company to put it nicely.:)

And Craig
people like me, who wear cardigans without irony. :)
was informed by our bar staff that cardigans are all the rage.(you little trend setter). And proof of this was a chav party t'other night, where to my delight I saw many cardis (and sweat bands, and head bands,They had included adidas in the theme.:)

Just reading Andrew
Hah - yes we have those lovely pictures on our ciggy packs, I was watching an ad last night with a tragic case - a guy recounting his radiotherapy as a result of smoking (no idea if he was an actor).
Lots of lurid pictures of cancer, tragic slurring of lines - at this stage I wonder if it'd be easier now just to ban cigarettes completely.
yes he is real. Met a couple who know him and after the smokers finished complaining about things like you must get pregnant when you smoke and that the fungy foot one wasn't real because nobody had seen one, the couple of his friends lit up and choked. Oh how we laughed. But I also have a friend with a hole in his throat and he still sits with the smokers. He was given 6 months (like the guy in the ad) and we still can't get rid of him 35 years later! And, many of us do try. ;)

The populace aren't that dense. There isn't much in it for them except for increased prices. Not really a great selling point.
They may not be that dense but I noticed quite some time back how quickly people jump to slogans (which they eventually believe without knowing why) that seem to come from 1zb or Leighton smith and they are also quite happy to start with "well I heard on Leighton Smith today....they even advertise!!!" It's time for a change" is particularly grating and not one person can constructively answer why when I ask. I have suggested with the economy sooo bad, the beer intake may have been reduced somewhat, then I spot that no it hasn't even done that.! Our country is a great lil' country. I cant think of a better one and I have been trying. We don't suffer here. We are not poor compared to many places in the world so I appreciate what we have and thank my lucky stars every day.
Right that's my mood today! As you were
