then I had to tear a new one to Denis Welch
Wait, what? Is this thread so long that I've forgotten huge swathes of it?
Sorry, yes, a bit cryptic there - Stephen linked to the otherwise excellent blog by Denis Welch and it was exactly one wet blanket statement more than your humble correspondent could take, as it turns out. Now he probably thinks he's being stalked by an angry Italian.

This is what happens: you go away for a couple of days and the messages accumulate in your absence (949 postings!!). I don't suppose anyone wants to provide a precis of this particular thread?
Lessee... It would appear that America elected its first black president. There were pictures of Kenyans rejoicing, in spite of the fact they've been electing black presidents for a number of years. The general mood here was: happy, elated, a little teary even. Then tipsy. Then we went to sleep. Today was wet blanket day: first James Bremer, than His Incoherence from the Chinese PAS contingent; then I had to tear a new one to Denis Welch. Then Danielle came and restored sanity and happiness.
Am I forgetting something?
A post-election post from Jolisa would be very sweet.

I just saw a clip of Maya Angelou reciting 'I Rise' on the CBS Early Show this morning
Fantastic. And thank you for restoring sanity (or is it the insanity of happiness?) to the thread.

How about the Palin bet, then, Craig. Are we on? This is your last out.

Punctuation makes things readable. And lack of it changes meaning.
ibis redibis non morieris in bello
just saying...

mark taslov: is this what you were trying to say?
Thanks for the link, Stephen. I found the piece infuriating but at least it was coherent... :-)

Surely you could have just hit yourself on the head?
I have never been known to pass up an opportunity for self promotion.

FPOTUS...Wasn't that Geena Davis?
Thank you. I had spent good money in booze to try to forget that particular show.

something about the tone you and danielle both had in those first replies
I can walk away from this with a compliment at least.

Danielle, why are you always so angry?
It looks like you were actually answering my post, there, Mark. May want to hone your reading skills a little.
And I never suggested banning you from the site. But seeing as this is a thread for people who happen to think what happened yesterday in the US was pretty special, it seems like a strange place where to come and tell us of your burning interest for the NZ election. There are plenty of open NZ election threads on PAS, it's hardly a topic that hasn't been covered round here.
Besides: Russell doesn't owe you a post, and we don't owe you the pleasure of our conversation. (Mine is sparkling, you might have noticed.)
