Is your uncle visiting soon..? I've the feeling that this is a story that would work regardless of you knowing how it went...

Congratulations y'all - especially you Russell for geting the whole shebang, um, banged.
Deservedly won, a goody among the goodies of the kiwi interweb.

Now we know why they called North Carolina from exits alone: Obama 66%, Clinton 32%...
38% counted in Indiana: Obama's gained 1% to 44%.
Media have often referred to women in public life by their first name, or softened it (Maggie Thatcher) for decades. Perhaps some Edwardian hangover of how to treat a lady kindly.
-
Indiana's been rock steady Clinton 57%, Obama 43% through 12 to 32% of the vote counted - in earlier states such consistancy would've seen the wire services calling it for the leading candidate...
-
BTW - AP is calling North Carolina for Obama, presumably from exit polls alone as actual vote counting has yet to be posted.
Indiana still skullfully cyrstalizing...

I too was getting tired of Obama's speechifying so checked out his policy doc - yes, he had some, some of which I thought would be really good for the US.
But sitting on the sidelines, it seems both candiadates, and Clinton clumsily these last weeks, is trying to find, reach and harness the mood of the nation... so the fact they've needed to visit so many states is at least a good thing.

Thanks Keith,
I was surprised to read in your blog that you felt it necessary to write that Chinese nationalism exists. I can't see how someone could think it doesn't exist unless their so blinded by their own preferred worldview they keep walking into their own reflections.
I also found of interest Yang Jianli's WaPo column and think that, using his terminology, what we're seeing is popular nationalism rather than conspiratorial government or vested interest in repressive tactics. The coverage at least seemed to emphasis the student-age attendees.

Strwth: FOTC CD US No. 3: Even if the US music industry is tanking, will the next need to be their debauched rock star life styles instead of as starving folkies..?
