Everyone knows the Hurricanes were the real winners in that final in the fog.
In some ways it will be sad not having the final down there this time around. Fog one year, mad horses escaping during the Awards Ceremony the next... Ah, it’s a laugh a minute.

Wellington has a bit of a social divide around rugby (a bit like Brits and soccer). Most people with a brain have been put off the game by the munters some years ago and actively avoid it.
I understand what you're saying. It's years since I've watched rugby at a pub.
You know the one sport you can go to the pub and be guaranteed that the people watching won't be munters and you can walk up to a complete stranger and have a decent conversation about what you're watching?
Test cricket. -
But, out of interest, do we accept McAuley's friends' and family's right to be upset and offended at Rankin's appointment? Or should they simply STFU? Genuine question for everyone.
Without wanting to pre-guess responses, I wonder if, subconciously anyway, the Wellington posters may differ in replies from the rest of the country on this.

JackE,
Not sure about pubs, but I think most pharmacies will be covering it.

Or the shadowy hand of John O’Neill?
BTW, congratulations on cheering for the Crusaders for all of Saturday’s match. I tried for almost the entire first minute but then gave up.
I’m worried I might have to last a bit longer than that this week...

So we head into the play-offs with a fairly good chance of a New Zealand team making the final
I'd say the chances are even better than that...

I don’t know RoO,
Those morning stand-up motivation sessions at the Families Commission about to become a lot more interesting.

I'm not convinced the " family " did have much to say.
Agreed. Which is also pretty ironic.

Gold.
And despite being from said evil uber-province I totally agree.

Tom,
Believe me, some of the Wgtn jobs-for-the-boys brigade do hold him responsible for it. Even Graeme Moody has publicly stated that, and made reference to the fact that such a demonic figure thinks he might one day be Canes coach.
You’re probably right in that they see him as a threat, and an outsider.
And an outsider who condoned the knobbling of one of “our boys” in a match Wgtn lost.
