@Stuart
I should have known that a music encyclopedia such as Alan would put me right. I never checked the writing credits. Please tell me Dr Worm and Birdhouse in Your Soul aren't covers.
@Gareth
Your 15 year old daughter has great taste not to like Twilight.
@Sacha
True Blood - the best show on the box currently. -
Dammit!! That's the one episode I missed recording. Sounded like a classic.

Stuart, if you are still there. I have to ask about a random (maybe not that random) quote you posted - 'Why did Constantinople get the works? That's nobodys business but the Turks'.
I had just been playing their CD in my car when I read that. I didn't think many people in NZ would know their stuff.
Can I continue with 'Even old New York was once New Amsterdam. Why they changed it I can't say - maybe they just liked it better that way.'
What supreme lyricists TMBGs are and what good taste you have! -
Oh my, I agree with Craig! Bro'Town I just don't get.
Has anyone seen Wilson Dixon? I didn't even know he was a local until I googled him. His 5 or 10 minutes at the Gala were hilarious. I'm very happy that the dry sense of humour that many Kiwis have is now reflected in some of our comedians.
And I have to agree with Grant's 'fish in a barrel' comment about Sweetman.

I can't see that gutting the RMA will have any effect on direct action...
"Will be interesting to see the analysis of how the proposed RMA changes (projects of national significance etc) will affect the ability to oppose."
People will still take direct action be it lawful or not.
-
Hi Sacha - I should have guessed it was you from your prolific posts.
"I predict high levels of direct action if/when development starts."
"I did wonder about this.
There are significant costs associated with delays, security and general removal of non-cooperative warm bodies from the paths of bulldozers. I strongly suspect these haven't been taken into account.
And those are just the forseeable financial costs. The loss of goodwill will be not inconsiderable.
I am willing to bet that what we (Auckland) will end up getting once all the dust has settled (literally and metaphorically) is the option that no-one wanted built, at the increased cost that no-one wanted to pay.
I predict headlines over the next few years along the lines of: 'Completion of Waterview connection delayed again. Costs out of control.'"
I agree wholeheartedly with Rich.
Having attended a community meeting at Waterview primary I can tell you feelings are running fairly high in the community - and that was with the tunnel option!!!

Long time lurker finally out. As a Waterview resident I felt the need to contribute as noone seems to have mentioned recently the 'other' option that was around where the motorway went through Heron Park went parallel to Rosebank road and I presume and came out somewhere near the Patiki Rd interchange... Josh?
