I really can't bring myself to HATE any music, some I dont really like, but it could not be called hate. The most effective torture for me would be no music.
However a discussion of ZM / Barry Jenkins (late to the party I know) cannot be had without this tune, which I recorded from the radio (on a C90 cassette probably) night after night until he payed and did not talk over it. It is short enough without having to skip bits.

That, sir, is spooky
Delayed exposure, with flash, slightly unstable, perhaps due to earlier indulgences.

Hat's off to those who do cycle commute in Auckland, I am simply not brave enough. Done plenty of on and off road riding, but things like Mt Wellington hwy and Pakuranga hwy are simply to daunting.
PS: Can we please have a Coco's in NZ!!!

The Angels - playing a stange slightly hippy festival sometime late '80's near Hamilton - Mystrey Creek perhaps?. Heavy thunderstorm, rain, sleeping in a Kombi van on site, ah the memories (what's left of 'em).

- so I don't look like a fool if I jump into a thread where I'm not competent to add anything enlightening
- usually one of the regular contributors says what I was thinking, but in a far better manner then my posts can – and the thread has progressed by the time I finish typing my less adequate response
- Its just so addictive that I could easily lose most of my productive time in reading and respondingPretty much somes it up for this lurker as well. I struggle to stay up to date just reading a few posts and discussions, I have no idea how some of the regulars have time to contrbute to PAS and do almost anything else!
I type poorly and inaccurately, so lack of auto spell check combined with the high standards set here means any contribution I might make is at least late if not completely redundant.
Hats off to all regulars, might not always agree, but enjoy the discussion, which I guess is the point.

Great discussion, prompting long time lurker to comment.
For me, where I am from is quite a different question to where is home.
I can never answer where I am from without covering parents born and raised in Timaru, me born in Wellington and leaving at 18mnths old for Auckland, primary schooling there interupted by stints in London (3 years) and Sydney (6 mnths), secondary schooling in Auckland, followed by farming in Taranaki, university in Christchurch and settling back in Auckland. If further inquires are forthcoming, 6th generation NZer.
Where is home? Our current house of nearly 20 years in SE Auckland, built by my in laws and my wife's family home from age 10. Simple.
For notasgalegic lanscape memories, the view of Mt Egmont (Taranaki now I know, but Egmont then) from out behind the waves at Stent Road as the sun went down, the land went dark and the snow on the mountain changed to pink. Always made me wish I could claim a stonger ancestoral connection to the Naki.
