It might be the first Nike rugby uniform that I've liked the look of. Except for the colour: a nice dark… purple?
But then, I also think that purple England jersey is really pretty. I'd wear that.
I probably should've made it clearer I really do like the England strip. I even like the purple. I just don't think it's ...um... English

I have the electric teal World Cup shirt from 99
Electric Teal?
And now I have this stuck in my head

(horizontal stripes for rugby)
Hang about, aren't stripes vertical & hoops horizontal?
That is absolutely correct sir. I award you five uni-points, redeemable at the merchandise table.
What interests me is how sports uniforms relate to contemporary fashions. Do shirt collars reflect whatever is hot in menswear at the time?
It's a strange one. Generally not at all. Home colours don't change too much, they just get varied in amount. But away jerseys (such as Man U's 1995 grey kit and Wellington's Super 14 kit) are often made in "go with jeans" colours.
Of course the cuts of what punters can buy is wildly different to what the players wear.

Oh my god! That Vikings' jersey might be the worst rugby jersey I've ever seen. What self-respecting Viking would wear that?

I really like the English rugby league uniform
You mean the one with no chevrons? (hence not a League jersey at all) And the weird shoulder panels? And the Russian Orthodox Cross at the waist?
I suppose the socks are nice

Is Mike the guy who wears cargo shorts, a floppy hat, and bare feet, and spends the game charging up and down the sidelines at breakneck speed?
No that's Dave of Photosport, he's pretty intense.
You know, should this become an annual event there would almost certainly be found, via PA, a ready supply of willing and well-equipped adventurers and colonial johnnies waiting for the call to arms. Hint hint.
It might be that next year. This year it was a secret army

They clearly have little depth as a guy who was injured wasn't replaced in the team but put onto the bench to play 20 minutes or so.
I thought that injury happened at the stadium, which is why Moore started in #16 (uniform trivia!)

I await the Hawkes Bay faithful

I hated Shaun of the Dead.
Heathen!
Wait for it... I didn't like Spaced either. I did like Hot Fuzz though

It has made me crave to watch Shaun of the Dead something wicked.
I hated Shaun of the Dead. But, Zombieland looks like it'll be awesome
