    War Memorial Museum.

Yes, I worked in the Wellington one at one point, but can't recall it having such anachronistic tendencies. By the way, that was arguably the slowest online purchasing experience I have ever had. Not that it's any fault of yours. It does fit with the solid permanence of the institution though.

Looking forward to the event. Should be a cracker.

Just a late notice on ordering tickets through the Museum Website. During the registering process I couldn’t help but laugh when I unveiled the list of titles.

Can I please choose ‘Capt & Mrs?’ Can I? Or even better ‘WOSA’ or ‘Wing Commander’. What is a WOSA, anyway? That’s certainly the most comprehensive list of titles I’ve ever seen. I hope we don’t lower the tone of the place too much.

ETA: WOSA = Warrant Officers, Specialists and Airmen.

ETA2: OMG, they even have a Suffix list!

  • Hard News: A work of art called Chimney Book,

It really does help a lot in capturing the intensity of the quake and the aftermath. The imagery in this, and in photos from David and others on here, seem wholly more poignant than much in the main stream media.

Oddly, one of the most affecting of the post quake images to date for me has been Emma's Snow Dalek. It seemed to represent an admirable strength and resoluteness, that you can throw bricks, extreme weather and Brownlee at us, but by damn we will still get out of the house and make the best of the situation we are in.

I refused to call it derailing – …
Every time a different, epic, complicated layout, worthy of photographing for the album.

Right then. Thought you might appreciate this tree (topical?) outside the aforementioned school. Yarn bombing in the burbs. We're a crafty bunch.

literal/metaphorical car-jack that impressed me, sigh.

    It's a topiary knowledge, bro.

So an alternate universe based on the drawings of
Robert Crumb and Bruce McCall does exist...

From your links, I think this is possibly the best car photo in the history of cars or photos.

Whoops, car jacked another thread. My bad.

That is the sort of car that someone not bothered by inflation would admire.

But it's green. That must count for something.

And Ben, do you have to be so practical? In fact it's the kind of car the Southward Museum would love, so just get them to look after it.

But, alas, I don't actually own it. I'm clearly not 'TUFENUFF'.

    Beam me up, Scotty!

    ETA:

But that's the point of a car - you've got to drive it, even if only under controlled conditions, to demonstrate it's reality.

I'd totally drive it. Cause that's how I roll. Anti-inflationary anarchist that I am.

If I owned this, I'd be bringing it home. Just sayin'.

many students would still need a great deal of assistance in the first few months as they learn how to live in English, not just read, write and speak the language in test situations.

Snap-ish! Took me too long to write my post.
