Surely that was the defence lawyer giving the defendants side of things and in the context of the trial is relevant to showing the defendants true belief.
That this is universally damned by all of society and the courts is the shining light to changes in society.
This was a real defence not so long ago. -
I'll credit Marshall with answering critics directly and this is a crisis of confidence in the force as a whole where it should be done, but that's it. The content is still lacking in his message and calling Kracklite at home is a step too far me thinks.
DeepRed - I know one of the Army Officers who took part in that Police/Military action on the Bikers in Cathedral Square. He is very proud of that day. :/

Hi Kracklite,
This is time to call a friend, walk on the beach or get roaring drunk
I'm sure this will be followed up. Look after yourself. -
What do you say to that?
He ain't Peter Marshall, he's Big Brother.

It was suggested having a non-cop as commissioner on Q&A might be a solution. I don't know the answer to that as career Civil Servants are not always talented.
These are the usual suspects for the next Commissioner and many seem to have been in a holding pattern for the top job for a while.

Yesterday I could have sworn at least one Cop was going to go to Prison for corruption.
Today it's, "move along everyone, nothing to see here" from Peter Marshall.

Very good Ian.
I'm in two minds about the standing some families have here in Christchurch. I have been the unwitting recipient of the royal treatment myself due to having the same name as dead people (as most anyone does).
I like the sense of belonging to place the Gough family have to Christchurch, but this easily becomes a sense of entitlement and snobbery as Jamie has expressed in the past.

Jamie Gough did vote for Marryatts pay rise etc is the sole survivor of the A Team. He did write a letter to the editor saying he was wrong. A keen sportsman, evidently able to hunt with the hounds & run with the hares.

No one-trick-ponies on the CCC. The moral & heritage campaigners got nowhere.
Wayne Hawker stalked a SOOB (Small Owner Operated Brothel) and got a few more votes than Lisle Hood who owned Heritage buildings used as Brothels. Both are at the bottom of the pile and out of elected office. Yip that's right - no-one gave a fuck.
Mark Belton came to prominence around the Cathedral debate and got nowhere.
Vicki Buck is in and I remember the city burst into life when she was Mayor, here's hoping the new intake of 2013 are up to the challenge before them.
