What exactly do you mean by this? To be profitable, what happened to the price in this study?

Technically NZ should already be at 90% renewable, as we were in the 1980’s. But politically? That’s just not an option
I don't think you can blame it entirely on the politicians. Take a look at "Project Lachie", an attempt to extend some existing hydro capabilities. That was basically killed by environmental NIMBY complaints.

I have two friends who installed heat-pump hot water tanks, and neither have come remotely close to the promised savings. Both regret getting them.
My neighbour below me got PV, and likewise he hasn't see the savings he was expecting and isn't recommending it to anyone.
Just some annecdata, no idea if there are technical reasons for their under performance that wouldn't apply to others.

I've got a good friend who's had 8 car dings/crashes/incidents. And he still considers himself to be one of the better drivers he knows, often attempting to commandeer the driving wherever possible. 8! Given this clear cut ignoring of evidence, I don't know how you could shift this from his dna.

A friend of mine at university was a foreign student from Germany. He told me about how soon after he arrived he had driven to the mountain for skiing and was super pissed off that he couldn't find how to get on the motorway and had to use some shitty back road the whole way down. He had driven there on state highway 1.

This doesn’t seem to be correct, at least not according to the GM of Green Valley Dairies anyway:
Meanwhile, Corrie Den Haring, general manager of Green Valley Dairies which supplies milk to both Oravida and Ruimi, said Mr Robertson's initial attack about Oravida receiving preferential treatment from Chinese authorities was wide of the mark.
"It is not the same two-litre bottles simply with a different label," he told National Radio. Ruimi's milk was a flavoured or extra-calcium product which required extra testing at the border. Delays meant the milk was too old for sale and was destroyed.

Far out ! Zilch kiwisaver funds invested in NZ.
I want to clarify.
0% in NZ companies. 13% is however invested in NZ cash deposits or bank fixed interest. But I think the question being asked was about investment which I take to mean in companies.
