Aucklanders have a high opinion of their own personal standing. Despite domestic Business Class having been abolished some time ago, passengers from and to Auckland may still demand to be upgraded. Showing them to their First Class seats behind the small door at the back has been found to be a good tactic.
Contrast the above with the experience of me and my wife booked on to a flight to Dunedin which got truned back to Auckland becuase it couldn't land at Wellington in the fog. Air NZ found another plane to board and transport passengers to Wellington within the hour. Meanwhile those going to Dunedin got told to p**s off and come back tomorrow.

Does worrying about this make me some sort of commie-socialist treehugger? Should I see a doctor?
No need to see a doctor we have a special Island for people like you....

“Art is identified by the Art World; that is not circular. The Art World is everybody involved in art: curators, critics, dealers, the interested public.”
Art is identified by the Art World.
Art = Art world.
Circular, as Art appears on both sides of the equation.
The Art world as you put it, has a presumed knowledge of what Art is, where has this come from ?
Who gets to define; curators, critics, dealers, the interested public ? And does this require community agreement ?
For example if I decide I am interested and decide I am an Artist does that make what I produce Art ?
If my wife is interested in my drawings does that make them Art ?
If the Art world changes does the definition of Art change with it ?
Oh, and then there’s this guy

whether it's because Telecom is provisioning accounts better, or because Voda didn't get a level playing field.
Hmmmm. food for thought here. Lines in my locale have detriorated significantly since my move to Orcon. I'm now down to 2.7 Mbs from 3.7 in a year with three line failures. An Orcon manager as good as admitted that there were no good lines left in my area.

@Gio
I really cannot imagine that the antics of NZ will influence the market for this stuff.
In light of the ongoing scandals in churches etc. this might serve as a distraction.
It also contributes to the illusion of doing something useful.

"The real issue behind this is the children that are abused to make these images."
Perhaps it is me, but I find this shit rather offensive given that a filter has no ability to prevent the instrumental abuse of children.

Artists are identified by the Art World by the fact of their making expressive pieces of work, and the purpose of those works being expression.
Without a clear definition of the "Art World" I'm not buying this, as the definition is clearly ciircular in the context used here.
n.b. I can be as expressive as I like at a Karioke bar, but an art installation ? I think not.

Take, for example, the Canterbury Heroes, Sir Miles with the giant head in particular. Haydn's passage "filled with statues of the great players from Wellington's sporting past" could look something like this. I am just warning you, that is all.
AT least it wouldn't look like this......grrrrrrrrr.

The Aucklander has been reporting, in a concerned manner, and including dozens of interviews from people from all over the Auckland region, for months. I think that deserves to be acknowledged, just as it is acknowledged that many of the other print outlets have been slower to bother following up on the outrage out there in many communities.
You could always try the letters page of the North Shore Times- though I sometimes think it gets overrun with all of Andrew Williams's alter egos.

I look forward with interest to Marshall's long awaited expose on the Dihydrogenmonoxide trade.
