Back to the BDO, yeah while I'm a hard core fan of all that is the day in the park, where's the quintessential act?
New Order, Iggy Pop, Neil Young aaaand... Lily Allen. Meh!
Still Dimmer in the Boiler room, Minuit, Kora on the main stage, Mars Volta screaming maniacally with some Groove Armada to round it off. I'll buy that for $139.50. Shit, did I pay that much for the tickets?

Pork futures?
We're not going to have a 'Pork Bone' political incident, are we? Cause that is certainly derivative ;-)

It's certainly of inflated value.

I'm still cheered by it because it shows how poorly we understand the economy and the staggering fictions we tell one another when it comes - for instance - to the role of endorsements and sponsorships.
Or the 500 Trillion Dollar Derivatives 'Market'. Talk about inflating the value of thin air. But don't worry, we can fill the gold bars with tungsten and sell it to the Chinese. They'll never notice.
Gore Vidal Quote from The Decline and Fall of the American Empire.
"The corporate grip on opinion in the United States is one of the wonders of the Western world. No First World country has ever managed to eliminate so entirely from its media all objectivity-much less dissent. "
Wandering meat putters are much safer than the obviously failing model of global democratization and greed based economics.

NYC. Ah yes, the Fun House club. Guess I was thinking of Arthur Baker's Chicago House lineage. That concert footage is effen fantastic. Stephen, also missed 1982, but the 1985 N.O. concert was notoriously short (45mins?), and if I'm not dreaming, we went to Quay Street for Car Crash Set afterwards. Simon will correct me if I'm wrong ;-) That was not a dig, it's just there's genuine train spotters, and plain old musical enthusiasts like me who suffer from memory lapses.
Here's some more funked up stuff.

Speaking of Chicago... King Arthur of the Round Tables and some band from the UK ;-)
Glad to see Power, Corruption & Lies on the stamps. Might have gone with Closer, but still, something by Peter Saville had to be there.

There were regular gang fights in our little hamlet, but that was adult stuff. We were too busy catching, and dispatching, possums, riding bmx bikes next to 50 foot drops or going bush from dawn 'til dusk. A few stitches, but nothing to write home about. Just took the kids back there for a summer holiday. They went bush, boogie boarding and had 'the best time ever', according to them. We had a different kind of fun. ;-). 'Perception' seems the key word here.
Not sure which thread to put this on. Love, Honours or Holiday Musings? Anyway, here it is.

Oh, oh and Helen Clark as... No sorry can't think of anyone ;-)

But any time I say that I get told to drop the sanctimony and mind my own business :-)
I'll see your MYOB and raise you a 'crotch sniffing', which is why I'm not in this discussion, well mostly not, cause I'm trying to learn from my mistakes. I do see some irony in this though. It's a bit like saying 'keep quiet about this stuff, which I'm going to elaborate on for a bit, that's none of your business', through a loud speaker.

Driving to Piha is probably riskier
Those Auckland tourists. Why don't they stick to Orewa?
