3140: silly you, if it goes unclaimed you get the money - as long as you left your details.

But even if one were to err on the side of caution, the "freedom fighters" referred to attacking Key as Prime Minister, in Wellington. It's fairly obvious that the very last place they'd have a crack at him would be on their own marae, as a guest.
Surely that's an ambitious rationalisation?

We've been watching the Dresden Files on Saturn. At least, my other half has been, whereas the wooden over-acting and general lameness have made me flee the room.

John Key's August trip to Tuhoe country was unaccompanied by police.
One News was told the Diplomatic Protection Squad knew about the alleged "plot", but provided written advice that it was safe to travel to the area.
Does anyone else find this extraordinary?
<kiwiblog>Perhaps someone in the bureaucracy wants John Key dead?</kiwiblog>

Emma H, you don't have an email address set up - could you email me please? I'd like to talk to you about fibro.

Kyle: actually, one of the consequences of the last few weeks is that I have learned how shitty the bail/remand system is, and how difficult it is for families to find let alone help prisoners awaiting bail. I hope that some renewed attention for those problems is something good that can come out of this mess.

(Although ThrustWombat is an excellent name which I would gladly use for my next project, if that's ok with you).

What? No. Clearly it's a long time since you had your hands on a modern Linux distribution.
On my bog-standard Ubuntu box login faces are set up by default. It's up to users to turn on an image. All you have to do as a user is click in the System Menu on "Preferences > About Me" and pick your login image. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

I'm not sure that's going to work out so well for him; I think he's basically a good guy and for obvious historical reasons he simply can't bring himself to believe that the police might be right and his fellow activists might turn out to be dangerously deluded liars.
Danyly, Moana Jackson is on record saying the same thing. And he's on the defence legal team.

"They had been playing with guns in "military style" training exercises.
Those two facts together..."
The second is not a fact. It is an allegation which is yet to be proven, and may well not be proven for some, perhaps most of the defendants.
