"Piffle", Jackson? Willing to bet nobody’s used that word since Bertie’s cruel Aunt Agatha. ;-)

In the meantime I content myself with my pro bono work.

Stop, stop, you people make me laugh so much it hurts.

  • Up Front: Sex with Parrots,

I know many of you will have already seen this, but if anyone else needs a LOL, this just in from Shelley Bridgeman:

Sex has become so respectable and acceptable that it’s a ubiquitous backdrop to our lives….When exactly did this shift occur -and can we attribute it to the internet which seems to wear the blame for most contemporary societal ills?

    Ian, you said it. :-)

    complex roots of unity

And here's to the polymorphous universality of the internet with all its Virtual Love Relationships. PAS is a many-to-many connection that's as meaningful to me as most in my life. Love y'all. Sayin.

  • Up Front: Sex with Parrots,

Stephen, I realise you've put a lot of time and thought into this, but I still can't see how maths can give insight into the nature of relationships. Surely it's the people having the relationships who can give us insight? And we should let them tell us how it is?

I've learned a lot from reading Emma's columns and everyone's comments; some of it I find very challenging, but when people talk about their own experience, who am I to say they are wrong or misguided?

I know, at least some of the time, what works for me, but I don't presume to know what works for other people. I'll let them tell me that, if they want to. :-)

    Phases of the spoon

Sounds like your family ran up a spoon bill. They howled at the spoon?

The spoonatic weka were probably hoping for cake forks. Or, possibly, fake corks.

    Weka bout

What they lack in elegance they make up for in character. I watched this one explore all around the inside of a tourist's car while she was a few metres away taking a picture of Cape Foulwind on a dull day. By the time she turned around the weka had hopped and sprinted away, and she never saw it.
