Dude who knows, but I did like Wille Nelson singing Old Shoe, especially the briefing session for the song.

Juha, we're just branching the code. (I know I'm a wannabe geek, sad...)

Hey that's in A Distant Mirror! (palm oil alert!). First, and Hawkwood was good at this, they would ask for money, the priests would levy the populace, if the populace wouldn't pay up, the pressure was on. Sometimes to curry great favour, Hawkwood would (is that alliteration?) kill teh Priests. Of course the nobilty usually had a special arrangement.

...and a swastika on his forehead, and a CD, but it was the devil's music played backwards, (Beatles White Album) that did it. Interesting that John Lennon coped it and Charlie didn't. America, here's a throwaway factoid, their civil (sic) war was the bloodiest per capita, ever.
I had a rellie in the Mexican war, on the wrong side, nevermind. -
...and he had a Family.

Charlie Manson liked Number 9...

Damn, if they had of got themselves killed we would have been in there like a Falklands minute, and Jeb could go for the Presidency and all would be well in teh world.

Now there's a book, Generals Always Die In Bed, by Charles Yale Harrison. I mention this because don't you just love the way John and Ralph above can rant on about how sailors should fight or be court-martialed. Ever seen All Quiet On The Western Front, boys?
Are these people for real? -
Juha, bang on, my bad, I have updates,
Handschar were a Muslim SS unit and very bad. At the start 1930- to be SS you had to be (insert criterion here), toward the end, anything went, the first SS unit created from other than German, was the Wiking, there was a Sikh one.
Yes there was a British, Canadian, Irish Freecorps, recruited mainly from POW's fighting supposedly for the German Army, however more probably for themselves, Lord Haw Haw recruited for this.
Then there was the Helpling units that were made up of ethnic groups to aid the soldiers, they did not fight (Mongolians springs to mind).
