Mike H- if you're reading this, or Russell maybe you can pass it on- the Alexander Turnbull does audio recording archiving, and in the last couple of years undertook a major programme of work around this. They have lots of tools and techniques and equipment to retrieve things from now obsolete formats. The person to contact at the ATL is Bronwyn Officer, she may be able to help out.

yes, the actress who plays Tania is South African.
The last Asian character (apart from Eddie Someone, the drugs kingpin) was Winston, Brooke's erotomaniac assistant.

Like you Sam, I'm a long-time Sth Wgtn resident, but haven't felt the need to go to MW for ages. The Newtown shops are awesome- free-range chicken & goat from the Halal butchers, as wells as lashings of lamb, and the (original) Med Food Warehouse still has good supplies in its current incarnation (dairy and pig-based).
Fantastic fish shop, topped off with fresh coriander from Asiana Foods in Riddiford St makes the meal.
(and yeah- if you're in the Hutt, the riverside market is the best in the Wgtn region)

hi Russell
Jim Mora has just mentioned your request for support on his show on National Radio (they're doing some sort of story on Richard McManus later this afternoon)

well, they at least have to blood someone in for Parekura in Ikaroa-Rawhiti, as he is unlikely to serve the full term. I'm trying to think of names, but to be honest this whole campaign shows that Labour's succession planning is, um, not one of it's strong points

The Wgtn Central party vote (provisional) still went to the Nats

I voted at South Wellington Intermediate. A team of Marching 'Girls' (I'm not sure if you can be a 'girl' still in your 20s-30s -25 was my cut-off point but I think that might still be the technical term). practising hard on the netball courts as we walked up.
The booth this year was in the school library rather than the hall- the extremely pleasant and patient booth manager told me this was because Welly City Council has found that the school hall building was found too earthquake-prone and they weren't allowed to use it (although the marching team had for a Housie fundraiser last night). The 2nd school in Newtown to have this verdict lately (kids at the primary are either in their hall or being bussed to Wgtn High). One for Anne T and Gerry B to sort?
It was a nice opportunity to connect with the neighbourhood, regardless of the outcome.

If I remember the same approaches were used in the Opening Addresses. Any were equally criticsed/praised. Any thoughts as to why it didn't affect poll results?
