also, what's with Key's diction in this piece? I know he struggles with Maori pronunciation, but in this broadcast he is channeling an elderly in-law of mine after he's had a few rums and his dentures start slipping.
Sacha, did you have to endure the Feelers in the radio format?

yup same for me:
Greens for party
Annette King (I live in Rongotai)
MMP
STV (2nd choice)It'll be interesting to see the data behind the upsurge in early votes, and also if the Green-initiated campaign to engage eligible voters who aren't enrolled works out

so, what happens if I stroll around the neighbourhood wearing my "I'm a KEY person" T-shirt before going in to the polling booth at the school across the road to vote?

yes, bang on! I think.. so much of it is just one of the guys at the office do, with hints of venal slipping through occasionally when he doesn't like what's happening (the protester in the public gallery a chilling example). He's a classic workplace bully.
I also thought it was interesting he picked out Metiria Turei and not Russel Norman. To my knowledge, nothing to do with the Greens, in terms of Confidence & Supply agreements or elected representation during parliamentary terms, has any noted instance of being "unstable".

I saw bits of it- Jane Clifton has a good, far wrap-up on the Listener Live election blog which Toby Manhire has been managing (very well- the guy must be exhausted!).
Another good candidates debate- Hauraki-Waikato electorate, in the hall at Ngaruawahia HS- tonight. Yes, Julian Wilcox is the Maori George Clooney, and they deserved that Current Affairs award at the AFTAs

True that.
Hone's wiping the floor in the Te Tai Tokerau debate on Maori TV Presidential, yet with a comforting amount of swearing just so you know he he hasn't been bodysnatched.
And some quality questions too.

they ask if you're the householder, over 18, and enrolled to vote- then the questions- then the demographic stuff.
The woman talked at the start and conclusion about how it wasn't a sales pitch and about how I was in the draw to win a $500 voucher.
I don't think it was too soon for a question about the tape- one was about if recent activity by ACT had "discredited" it

A few minutes ago I was called on my landline to participate in a NZ Herald Digi Poll, for my opinion on current election-related events.
Amongst the questions you'd expect - how are you voting for: party/electorate/MMP referendum- and a couple around National Standards, moving to Australia etc.
I was surprised that there were none about "Tapegate" and one randomly thrown in the middle: "Of these leaders, who do you think would be kindest to animals?". The choice being the 5 male party leaders (no Turia/Turei).
so, does this mean that the NZH is backing away entirely, or just that Hamilton-based pollsters have been won over by Phil Goff's Twitter feed?

Yes, good luck for Wednesday, Damian.
What are people thinking of the TV1 Debate so far? I found the first bit so excruciating I switched over to the Shortland Street Halloween Special (maybe it's another example of the problems of transferring Northern Hemisphere traditions to NZ, but it wasn't that spooky when it's still nice and sunny outside).
