right, you're on. I shall not rest, slumber, blink, utter a spoken pause or consider the lillies till I find an Air Supply badger-baiting scorchio.
make yourself comfy but, I may be some time...

aw shucks Mr Mark, I rather like it - luckily the Reddster has got my back...

felt lucky at lunchtime and managed a couple of longtime wants.
been after a cheap version of this for yonks and snared a lovely US pressing. I am (a funky) Woman...
and this erm, barking mad b-side. never thought I'd find it here and some would say I'd be better off if I hadn't...
then, for shits and giggles, this rather took my fancy. they don't make 'em like before they even used to...
and good to see Jay Clarkson is still playing out, always dug her stuff at the Windsor - and the drummer's spangly blue kit, his name eludes me for the moment.

Ritchie, did you go to Kiwiburn this year? I heard good things about the new space.

Can I get an amen?

maybe not. perhaps they could be talked into introducing a discount if you promise, cross your heart and put ice cream on top that you'll go to more than one day. otherwise Auckland needs a proper cricket venue - ideally free from any commercial arrangements - where you can rock up with your own tucker and refreshment, and sit on some grass. isn't there a plan being proposed for Western Springs?
but I'm quite happy enjoying only one day of a match at the venue. too many summer holidays painting walls have trained me to using a portable radio as my default cricket format. tests then merge into my normal day to day with my focus depending on where the match is at.

a remember a few years back - too long to remember who we were playing - where play ended on day four with NZ within a gnats whisker of victory. Entry was free the next morning so I took some time off work and went along to celebrate. can't see the same thing happening now.
and I used to love the bleachers in the southern stand, no-one within coo-ee of me, my wireless, dad's old binoculars, bumper box of k fried, french stick, bottle of whatever had taken my fancy, and whatever I'd smuggled in. a nice time was had every time.
as for current prices, how do they compare to Super 15 and such?

managed some nice lunchtime finds...
midtempo groover wot builds nicely with some bonus bass sax.
I can't get enough mod jazz era Mongo Santamaria, stoked to hear Hammer Head on this, wot has a more than passing resemblence to the Skatalites' Phoenix City, and the sampled to within an inch of it's life Afro Lypso.
no clip for either on youtube so this is the album's title track - Georgie Fame played it as well, not sure who came first but.
and a cheapie from the bargain bin, Bobby Emmons' Blues with a Beat with an Organ - boasts a bongotastic beat version of Mack the Knife. bloody youtube lets me down again.

also, just had my day/ weekend/ week made by hearing Wire will be back in town on Feb 17 - and finally they'll be playing the Powerstation.
