ha, Robyn, that's exactly what I was going to post - what's not to love about Eurovision?
seems to be a shift from the club beats to moody ballads this year, but it's got to be Austria's year.
and while disappointed Jedward aren't back for Ireland, it's good to see the French flying their haircuts.
as for the UK, nil point. again. -
Hard News: Friday Music: Record Store Day, in reply to
yeah, but the big stuff is always the limited releases, they have the resale value. I'd be happier having them drip fed as usual, there's something unseemly in having a scrum form.

while the day is fun and all I'm getting a bit leary on the whole RSD thing. if you haven't read the letter posted on the Kudos site, I recommend it...
http://www.kudosdistribution.co.uk/record-store-day-2014-frustration/
I track Kudos daily and the overload they refer to has meant they haven't stocked new vinyl in quite some time which is arse. Jazzman has reported similar.
and having hoped to get a copy of the Pink Floyd, See Emily Play 7'' last year I was a little aggrieved to see it stuck up on auction sites almost immediately afterward for stupid money. I doubt the intention was ever to provide a new income source to scalper types.
but, if this is the best way to get the Sub Reps and Scavs reissued, then sweet. as long as I get one.
and Bob, you're saying Clinton's collection has been shipped north? wonder why they didn't head to Slowboat? anyway I was at journo school with Jason and he was a lovely bloke. even got to have a rummage through his stuff - he had broad tastes - so I'll be keen to have a look.

growing up in Mangere in the 70s we had one couple over the back fence - outwardly Pomgolian, but she was born and raised in India and he'd been a soldier stationed there - who used to pass facemelting curries over on a regular basis. my dad would pretty much leave the house for the duration, salt and (white) pepper was the beginning and end of his flavour palette.
then over the right fence was a Fijian-Indian family who used to host regular celebrations and invite the whole neighbourhood over. got to enjoy Indian style sweets for the first time as well.
was all very mouthpopping for a wee nipper, and it took me a long while to appreciate them. I'm a horrendous sweater when it comes to chilli which, while considered a spectator sport by some, is never a look I particularly enjoy. -

for the love of Helen, I have nothing but pity if you can't feel the epic yacht rockiness of LRB's Night Owl…I mean come on, feel the width.
