Jackie: I am not sure whether it is the right time or place but we do now have a surfeit of bikes. I did a well-paid writing job for Te Papa Press recently and have rewarded myself with a new Avanti road bike, with shocks and disc brakes. So, we have 4 other bikes sitting around pretty much unused in the basement, if you are still interested.

    Hope other things go well.

  • Up Front: Eat Up Your Brothelly,

Is it just me or does anyone else find that sidebar for drug help excessively annoying????

  • Up Front: Eat Up Your Brothelly,

I've often thought that they should have a brothel where the sex workers dress up as 'windows' from the television programme Play School.

Yikes! I guess Big Ted and Little Ted have a role to play??

  • Hard News: The Creepy Party,

Yeah, the Association of Cunning Tax-evaders is a little too up-front :)

But possibly the Association for Cretinous Tyrants?

  • Stories: Famous blue raincoats, etc,

Some clothes in the cupboard have been there so long they could be called vintage but it is great when you can pass them on to your children eg a stadium jacket from Ohio (dated 1968) which my son wears around Wellington, an old Lenin cap from Tampere in Finland, passed on to my daughter. We have a wonderful rabbit fur hat from Russia which I yearn to wear again (the last time was in a Finnish winter). I Have a collection of tshirts I don't want to toss away--including an original (but threadbare) WKRP in Cincinnati tshirt, and a Springsteen concert shirt (Cleveland, Ohio 1979)-- I won it and a ticket to the concert in a Toledo radio station competition after being in the US three days. There is also my old W(h)anganui Woollen Mills coat and an old cream DB dinner jacket from Suva.

I like it when clothes can tell such stories.

  • Hard News: The Beautiful Pants,

What about Dr Haywood's shirt? That was pretty spiffy. I think they should left the shot in when the TVNZ cleaning lady strayed into the shot--it could have increased the potential audience ;-)

If they can slow down Justin B to that extent, could we shrink him down by 800%, and then squash him like a bug??

  • Hard News: The Creepy Party,

10 ACT MPs=a pigsty? To be honest, there is great sport (and some glee) to see ACT in such strife--tempered with the realisation that they have been granted completely undeserved political power.

Great show last night, Russell. My students really enjoyed themselves--especially those who were in the control room.
