How would you know?
=)
Indeed. To paraphrase a great philosopher of our time, it's one of the best cloak-and-dagger disguises there is - nobody would ever suspect Mike Williams of trying to appear inconspicuous and discreet.

That was followed by an anonymous text and several drops of further documents from someone calling himself Batman.
Labour's secret weapon: they've captured and 'turned' dad4justice.

"Going forward", as a substitute phrase for "in future" or similar.
Can someone tell me what this actually adds to a discussion, other than indicating the speaker's preference for corporate style at the expense of sounding sensible to normal human beings?Actually, this is such a useful indicator of 'sophisticated' knobbishness I almost have a soft spot for it. But note, emphasis heavily upon that almost.

China Mieville's Perdido Street Station. Ripping yarn and no mistake.
Oh yes. Not nearly so sold on Iron Council, though.

**People who own cars with an insignia cover for the boot keyhole, but leave the cover flicked up ALL THE TIME**
Animals.Oh God, be it a New Beetle, Alfa Romeo, anything at all... I've been riding through traffic, seen this, and many times have scarce resisted the temptation to reach forward and roll the damn thing down.

Shane Warne : I've waited two years for another chance to humiliate you.
Daryll Cullinan : Looks like you spent it eating.Sledge of the century?

1000+ pages of ' incredibly detailed history' and we're still left with the burning question: how did Frodo pay for his stay at the Prancing Pony?
I suppose innkeepers in those parts were used to people turning up a bit short.

And: The Eye of Argon: Worst fantasy short story ever. Conventions hold reading competitions: you have to see how far you can get before you start laughing...
Got here, with genuine effort:
"I find you to be the only fool, sitting upon your pompous throne, enhancing the rolling flabs of your belly in the midst of your elaborate luxuryland ..."

Pretentious and/or pig-ignorant hacks who don't know what "decimate" or "literally" means, but it sounds impressive. Helen Clark "literally incandescent with rage" like a trench-dwelling flatfish on crystal meth, but I won't hold my breath. If Duncan Garner has, I've got a piss cup with his name on it.
I had one of these moments on Sunday morning when a RNZN panelist described a New Zealand architectural 'school' as having 'literally exploded' a few decades back.
Really? How long did it take to pick up all the pieces of architect? Did they build something nice over the crater so it's not visible, or is this just something that's Not Talked About down south? Where is the science on such phenomena? So many unanswered questions.

Speaking of not bothering to exercise one's vote... if you subscribe to the belief that The Standard = Labour, Labour supporters in Epsom are being told to vote for the Nats' Richard Worth over Labour's Kate Sutton, for the sake of keeping ACT out. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this didn't actually work last time, did it?
