  • Hard News: Gower Speaks, in reply to BenWilson,

I ask because “Winston decides” surely includes an unknown chance of Labour led government?

I'd like to think that with NZ Firsts state assets policy alone, that they can find room to compromise with Labour and Greens to change the govt and or a mix with Mana and Internet if necessary. The point being, all these opposition Parties need to have a vested interest in getting along (that's MMP) and an understanding that compromise is inevitable if we want change. I'm going to persevere with emails to all of them even if I never get asked in any polls, I can sure as hell tell all opposition parties I want them to compromise to get rid of this current lot. hrrumph!

and I hope the process has a much greater degree of integrity than this one.

I can be accused of being biased (I don't care) but I think this govt's track record is proof appalling with regards to care of NZ citizens and our human rights etc so with that I suspect (especially having spent 5 years listening to answers in Question time) that many "panels" have been set up this way with cherry picking the appropriate person of a "right" bent rather than neutral. Paula Rebstock seems to be up there as one person for reviews and reports. Would explain Shipley popping up everywhere for thousands per day also. Once and always with NActional, is follow the money.

  • Hard News: Taking a very big gamble,

Noticed this is still being looked at in the Herald

But the review found that, in eight of the 13 regions, the panel selected providers "ahead of providers whose proposals had scored higher in the proposal evaluation results".

I'd also like to think Trevett at Te Herald is writing in a serious vein (although anything seems possible with her) when she wrote this about Labour

  • Hard News: Poll Day 2: Queasy, in reply to Tom Semmens,

Are you sure about that? Another day, another story that reads like a National party press release.

Yes, her efforts in that were,” John Key says"… big effort Audrey . Propaganda. Disgusting effort.

I understand why Labour are changing their strategy a bit as David Parker points out in this press release

but pretty much the first thing Patrick said was that they were good questions and he was happy to answer them.

That's possibly where the likes of Campbell live could do some legwork to help themselves Patrick and the public have a better understanding."We, the public are not in Kindergarten anymore, Patrick. Facts is our friend."
Thanks for the insight. RB to our rescue again. :)

  • Hard News: Poll Day 2: Queasy, in reply to Bart Janssen,

Personally I’d be quite happy is political surveys were banned altogether and if they must be done then those reporting them need to learn to use correct language when quoting the numbers and anyone caught using sloppy language could be …

...fired after explaining why they used wrong language. I think people who use the word, written or spoken for a job needs to do their job properly, or we may as well live in a place of sloppy....

But also. I want facts. I want to learn truth and have knowledge. I want to expand my brain, my awareness, I don't like bullshit. I hate that bullshit is becoming a staple diet of information.

Maybe we could outsource overseas. That way they don’t have skin in the game, either.

Ahem, maybe not in this game just yet but they are already watching....

Also not so long ago for NOTW debacle that gives me confidence in having "no skin in the game"
