I was 17 in 1981, and if I'd had the vote I'd have voted for Muldoon. (Mainly to piss off school politial advocate John Campbell)
I can't believe I've admitted that so publicly.
Anyway, let that be a warning to those who want to lower the voting age to people so immature.

You’d assume the previous sentence would be taken into account.
He’s done 75% of his sentence for a crime he was probably 75% guilty of. Why don’t they just call it quits, and spare us the sight and sound of Joe Karam every day for the next 2 years?

Don’t they have a system in Europe where people can get tried in another country in such high-profile cases??
A retrial of Bain in Australia would seem the obvious thing to do.

Looks like Braces is back...

I meant more subtle.

The whole reason people keep getting confused that it’s a national sport is due to the way Team Emirates NZ is promoted in the media (TV1 and Herald being the worst offenders)
Running a story like this reinforces the myth that it’s a national sport. Some of it, like that story, and TV1 breathlessly imploring people to stay up to “cheer the Kiwis on” are blatant examples; the fact that the Emirates word is never used in TV1 news items or the fact that it was always BMW / Oracle, not Chris Dickson’s BMW / Oracle are less subtle.

OK, it’s not really a speech impediment as such but what’s with the sign-off for TV1 sports reporter Tuapalooooooooooa Evert-Charlton?
Does he think he’s a boxing commentator or something?

Unlike Bond, Fay / Rich White never ended up in prison.
What about Lipton?

Since 1981?? OK, I can see the point there, but isn't it ironic that the ultimate purposeful national enthusiasm was Spain 1982??

What's the problem with being snotty and condescending?? Haven't most of the world's great civilisations been based on exactly that?
