Indeed, the term ‘fascist’ has largely descended to an epithet, like its close cousin ‘communist’.

Tom Scott used to have some really good -and funny!- cartoon ripostes to-the-tory-powers-that-be…now, he has morphed into grumpy-old-white-male-conservatism
Yeah, Brian Edwards is another. Seems that some people just get tired of trying to understand the problems and come up with the solutions as they age so they revert to folklore and dogma instead.

Oh, and this would appear to be Farrar’s response to Hodgson via the conservative Tom Scott. (just posted on kiwiblog)

She drew the image of the armoured genitalia to illustrate a story for an Australian publication on the different standards for male and female nudity in films. Her editor’s response – he rejected it and demanded something more modest
Some of you may be interested in this excerpt from an interview with Seth Macfarlane and the cast of 'Family Guy' conducted by Bill Maher during which they discuss the topic of cartoon censorship in America: (love Maher's final quip "that is powerful stupid")

In Bali there was a bird that I'm convinced was recycling the incessant dominant local racket - the whine of low CC motorcycles. I have no idea what it was but it did it very accurately in the early morn.
Possibly a relative of the incredible lyre bird. This Attenborough clip showcases the lyre bird's talents, including such natural forest sounds as the camera shutter and more poignantly, the chainsaw.
Has to be seen/heard to be believed.

Meanwhile, some free goodies …
Post Mint Chicks band Opossom’s newest MP3 …
Always get the feeling that I’m listening to an exhibit rather than a song with the Mint Chicks. So intense. Especially liked the collaboration with Pip Brown a couple of years back.
You can buy it directly from the band here for a US buck.
[edit: I think we can all agree that the White Album was The Beatles' creative pinnacle]

The government collects future revenue earlier, allowing them to “get back to surplus” earlier. This part is purely political.
This I disagree with, the reason for which you answer yourself:
Collecting revenue earlier means they don’t have to cover interest on it.
Not everything is political - some things just make sense. If you aren't paying interest on a loan then the average person needs to be compelled by law to repay it - at a reasonable clip.

Home Brew are, somewhat inevitably, having a party to launch their record. It’s in an unused brothel
Egad! I’m intrigued. Are we talking 'unused' as in unfrequented or 'unused' as in fresh condom?

John Key could do something visible like, umm like in front of MSM, have a cup of tea.
Presumably they’d split the pot so that no one could say who had had which cup of tea.
