My old PE teacher had the theory that in the next few decades there'll probably be a drug olympics set up and a non-drug, just because who wouldn't want to see a man bench-press 1500kg, or do a 10sec 200m, etc etc - there have been instances in the states where sperm banks have been set up for elite athletes, and later women donate eggs, in an attempt to see if the genes work - or there's the Chinese and DPRNK practice of mandatory core-sampling and removal of children who have promising musculature [something which apparently occurs in the US also, but to a more sedate extent, according to a textbook I cannot remember].
Moral questions which stemmed from this though were;
a. In today's PC world, will people watch guys and girls take all kinds of crap and risk dying just for a few minutes of entertainment?
b. Which is likely to be a more favoured marketing model for companies? [likely answered by a]

You really don't understand the appeal of the Ashes?? Why not just say you don't like cricket and be done with it?
Hadyn does say that, on a very regular basis, but is making a huge effort to try and get into it.

It's just that the TdF riders don't go fast enough. You never see a fan trying to chase a WRC car, do you?

That's great Tom. It's how 99% of sports fans operate. Don't know the sport, don't care for it but OH I HATE THAT ** MOTHER F4751234732!

Well hey, if I was Campbell I'd be loving all this free publicity. At least that way if the brothel didn't go ahead, I'd be able to say 'Hey, I'm the TKD brothel guy', not 'Hi I do TKD and want to go to the Olympics, can u givs me munies plz?'

The All Blacks (and Black Caps, but perhaps not the Silver Ferns) all stumble in their initial games before the team begins to play as a team. The ABs played with several key players missing and won - eventually and somewhat unconvincingly but FFS surely there's the building period to get through?
As opposed to teh Warriors, who start convincingly and fall apart due to injuries and odd coaching and on-the-field decisions.

Here is a question. How come, when it finally IS actually cold and wintry outside, the sum total of decent rugby on our screens during prime time weekend viewing slots has been three games since the end of May?
Because stupid bloody Oregan Hoskins had to go and put on a series against the Lions right when we woulda been playing Tri Nations!
-
Strange, Henry said in May that he had not been reappointed...
If you read the story, the NZRU board decided to reappoint them in April. Doesn't mean they told them.
-
No doubt it's going to happy, so I'll start the discussion on the Henry, Hansen and Smith re-appointment now.
Here, negatrons, I'll give you your points to argue about.
* Why was it decided on in April, and not reviewed following the team's shit performances in the Iveco series?
* Why are we still insisting on employing a coach who gave us the worst performance of the last world cup?
* Why are we still employing coaches who play players out of position? *coughDeansandMitchellplayingHowlettatFullback*
* Why didn't Robbie Deans get the job?
* Why didn't one of the 20million other coaches better than him get the job?
Etc.
All I have to say is this.

Did you mention that the problem with having women play five sets is that there are so many mismatches, particularly in early rounds of tournaments?
Because that’s the official reason. After being forced to debate for 3-set matches, that was my only point.
