Okay, fairy nuff Craig.
However, it doesn’t tick the boxes of the fantasy genre. It’s more a male orientated sex comedy, with dramatic twists. And rooting.

And it really isn’t a fantasy show. There are fantasy elements, but it’s quite unlike anything else, I think.
I remember in the build up to Outrageous Fortune, some media outlets latched onto the notion that OF was ‘NZ’s version of The Sopranos’. Not what anyone who made the show was thinking!

I struggled for about 10 years, eking out a living from the arts. Then I moved into television.
I was one of the fortunate lucky last. Went to university from 1983 to 85, then Drama School 1987-88. In those five years of tertiary study I was paid a universal student allowance (as well as Bursary and Scholarship). This covered basic living plus fees and books. When I wanted to go flatting, I took on various part=time and holiday jobs to cover the additional living expenses. No student loan to contend with.
I find the downstream consequences of the student loan scheme appalling.

Music: 2010's been a good year, I reckon. Still loving Arcade Fire's The Suburbs, The XX, The National's High Violet, Phoenix Foundation's Buffalo, Julia Deans' Modern Fables, Gorillaz' Plastic Beach and Ray la Montagne and the Pariah Dogs' God Willin' and the Creek Don't Rise.
Live gigs: was blown away (again) by Wilco at The Civic, and by The XX at Laneways.
Movies: Shutter Island and Inception really pushed my buttons. I was strangely moved by the latest Harry Potter installment.
Theatre and Television: nothing really touched me over the last year. Nothing made me gasp. Hoping for a great 2011. The opening of Q Theatre looks set to be an important and exciting addition to the Auckland Theatre scene.

They’re just people, trying to get programmes and films made.
We’re all “just people”. Please don’t try and make each other’s profession more of an issue than it already is.
I was (maybe ineptly) trying to make the point that stereotyping people who make programmes and films into 'bosses' and 'workers' may not be the most helpful way to go.
It's a tiny industry. Very few are getting rich off the back of it. Most do it because they are passionate about it. This goes for all practitioners: from producer, to writer, to actor, to camera assistant.

Graham and Robyn claim to hear admission of culpability from SPADA over poor communication. I was there and didn't hear any such thing.
The producers are accused of not treating actors with respect. However. I'm hearing producers regarded by actors as the evil bosses. They're just people, trying to get programmes and films made.
Graham's point about analysis of failure and learning from mistakes in terms of less than successful films and TV programmes is a good one. But I fail to see what relevance this has to the current dispute.
